A/n: sorry for the long wait, but I'm back and I'll be updating as per usual again, just had some family issues. Also has anyone else seen In A Heartbeat ?

Let's Start

~Narrators pov~

As the blonde Englishman lay next to the slightly smaller and sleeping h/c haired c/n, he sighed quietly, the darkness surrounding them ever so slightly becoming lighter. The return journey from the hospital had left both men silent, one having been crying for a near hour whilst the other was to shocked to say anything. They had found out that m/n's little brother was just admitted to the hospital near Scotland, the rural area proved hard to navigate even for a personification of the landmass.

Not very soon after m/n received a message to say that his younger brother had gone into a critical state, his heart rate dropped, his breathing staggered and his brain failed to stay awake. Upon arrival m/n was rushed into the waiting room outside the room the younger man was in, they both sat on the hygienic plastic chairs provided, and prayed, whispered to any god out there. It didn't work and never had it, not for them at least, the flat line resounding throughout the room signaled the end of a life. They were allowed in after the time of death was recorded and his dead, cold body covered with a thick, black bag.

It wasn't crying first, it was a loss of being able to breathe, it was that that triggered the light-headed feeling, then there came tears. It was like floodgates just broke,or like a dam that kept the whole world safe just got knocked down. Arthur had no means of conforting him, he was hysterical, not being able to be strong any longer.

Then they we're escorted out by a kind lady with a Polish accent, she was beautiful and she seemed caring,he eyes bled understanding and sympathy, but neither of them were looking for that. The car ride home was silent and cold, no one talking, no radio and just the sound of the engine in the background.

And that's how we are here, both men curled up into the bed, facing each other and arms wrapped around one another. Arthur had taken m/n to bed after his breakdown, finding sleep the best option to calm them both down. Arthur wasn't as tired so it took him a long while to fall asleep again, just to awaken mere hours later, so he didn't go to sleep, he stayed awake to watch over the other.
