As they both were walking back to Alteria, Kenneth grabbed out a red orb out of his pocket, and it had some ears, eyes, mouth, and a tail. It looked like a cute little wolf.
"That's adorable!" Delancie squealed, grabbing the orb out of his hand.
"Hey!" Kenneth said, snatching it away. Delancie was about to tackle him (She was desperate to get that thing. When it comes to cute things, Delancie can't resist.)when he put his hand on her forehead, and his other with the orb, bouncing it up and catching it as it was falling.Delancie was struggling to get it back.
"He's not as cute as you are," Kenneth said letting go of Delancie. She tried grabbing it and Kenneth held it up. Why had he have to be so tall?
Delancie finally gave up and scowled, with her arms folded. "You know Fielding, your cute when you're mad." He said, snickering as Delancie stopped her foot and replied with a "Hmph!".
"Anyways, wanna see what it does?" Kenneth asked.
"Yes!"
"Well, here it goes." He chucked it at the floor. Delancie exploded with fury.
"Hey! What was that for?!" She suddenly looked at it, as it exploded and turned into a fluffy wolf cub. It's was gray with big blue eyes.
"Oh. My. GOSH!!" She ran toward it and picked it up, squeezing it. "IT'S SOO ADORABLE I COULD DIE!!!" She exclaimed.
"Yeah I guess." Kenneth mumbled while Delancie was petting the fuzzy creature.
"Come on, howl little wolf howl for Delancie." She said in babyish tone. The Gray creature howled with all it's might Aoooooooooo!
"Huh, he's never howled like that before have you?" The wolf looked away with shame.
"Wait why did he come out orb? Shouldn't she be like, right beside you every time?" Delancie asked.
"He is always by my side,"
"But-"Delancie protested.
"Whenever I need him, I throw this orb to the ground and he comes to help me. And it can be bigger and stronger when you train it. It like, evolves."
"But why don't I get one?" She pouted.
"You'll eventually get one." He said starting to walk. Delancie sighed. She now wanted a pet so badly. " His name is Hunter."
They walked down a trail with lots of trees, and bushes. She felt like all she saw was trees. Tree, tree, tree, tree-wait theres a bush. Tree, tree, tree, tree... she changed topics in her mind and thought about the wolf. They were about the same age, and she didn't get one? Delancie thought it was unfair.
"You're not pondering about the whole animal thing are you?" Delancie looked at the creature walking beside Kenneth.
"I still am." She admitted. "It has a good name by the way."
"Huh, I'm surprised you worry more about a pet then your own sleeping place." Delancie froze. Kenneth stopped as well turning around to face her. "Don't worry I know a place to stay."
Delancie sighed with relief. "So can I continue pondering about the animal issue?"
"Sure whatever."By the time Delancie came up with a reasonable explanation for why she should have an animal (which involved lots of numbers for some reason) they had arrived at their destination.
It was a huge white building that looked classy, but not too classy. Stylish, but not to stylish. Plain, but not too simple, and so forth. She looked at a sign that said,
The Vamers
"Hey Kenneth is this your house or something?"
"Yep," He said, "Welcome to The old Vamer home, Delancie." Kenneth welcomed her.
"This is huge! It's so big!" Delancie stared at it with amazement glowing in her teal-green eyes.
As they walked inside the house, Delancie looked around and then at Kenneth. "Where are your parents? Do you have a brother or a sister? Where should I sleep?" She asked, rasping for breath. Those questions took her breath out."Whoa, Calm down again! Yes I have parents, I have 2 brothers and a sister, and you can sleep with my sister. You guys could get along." Kenneth started walking away. "My parents should be in the living room."
They walked into a neat living room area with decorations everywhere. It felt so homey! They didn't find Kenneth's parents, but found his brothers.
They noticed him and said "Kenneth!" And then one of them gave him a big hug and the other just knuckled each other with their hands.
"Hey, who's she?" The taller brother, probably the eldest, asked looking at Delancie.
"Oh, guys I finally found her! It's-" His brothers interrupted him, knowing exactly who she was.
"Delancie!!??" They asked, astonishment in their eyes.
"Heh... that's me." Delancie said, waving. She was nervous. Why was she so important? Why were they looking for her?
"DELANCIE?!" A voice came from the hallway. It sounded like a girl, it must be Kenneth's sister.
A girl ran to the living room, and she was so beautiful. She had long orange-reddish hair, blue eyes, freckles, and you can tell she was very quirky. When she saw Delancie, her eyes grew wide.
"OH MY GOSH!" She gasped. "SHE'S BEAUTIFUL! WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SOO MUCH FUN!!" she said, grabbing her arm and dragging Delancie to her bedroom.
She suddenly stopped, putting her hand over her mouth. Then she looked at Delancie. She uncovered her mouth. "I forgot to introduce you to me! I'm Emmaline, but you just call me Emmy or Emma."
"Uh, I'll call you Emmy..?" Delancie staggered.
"Sure!!" Emmaline said, practically glowing. "You can sleep with me!"Delancie felt she could be friends with this girl. She finally smiled.
"Ok!" Delancie said, actually having fun.
"Great!!" she said as she jumped. "First you need to get a spirit animal. Here, I'll show you mine before you go see mom and dad, and then go get one yourself." She grabbed a pink orb out and chucked it at the floor. It was a owl. Emmy put her arm beside it and it pouched on her arm.
"Isn't she cute?" Emmaline said, petting her owl. " Her name is Opal." The owl is a barn owl and she is white and gray. She is so tiny because she hasn't evolved to her second stage.
"Adorable!" Delancie exclaimed, petting Opal too.
Delancie then thought back to the wolf. She had just conclude two things. One, do Emmaline's brothers have an orb too, as weel as her parents? Two, she had to change her results of why Delancie couldn't have an orb.
"So, Emmy which bed is mine?" Delancie asked. She stared at the bunk bed. It was a wooden bunk bed, which Delancie really liked. She looked around the room, she saw posters of owls, boxes with who knows what stuff, and lots of pictures. Some were of her family, like she saw one of Emmaline and her brothers goofing around when they were young. She then saw one of Emmaline and her owl together.
"Oh you can sleep on the bottom, I hope you're okay with that, it's because earlier I called the top!" She said as she grinned.
"Of course I'm fine with that. All I care about is having a bed to sleep on." Delancie stated, hoping to get some sleep soon. She flopped down on the bottom bed and checked her watch. 7:00. She sighed. I'm so exhausted! She thought as she snuggled under the covers and drifted off to sleep.
