Journal entry 2: on memories
I'd like to think that I have a lot of good memories. I do, compared to some people. Others would argue I'm not living life to the fullest. I agree, but I can't live life to the fullest if I want to surpass everyone's expectations. So, I'll take the opportunities to make memories when I can, and when I can't I'll savor the ones I have.
A good memory from last summer was when Kaitlyn and I went from coffee at our local Kaladi Brothers. Since it was summer, we biked everywhere, and Kaitlyn and I could make it to Kaladi's in about 8 minutes on bike. That day, a arrived a few minutes earlier than her as usual, and we sat and talked and laughed awhile before ordering our coffees (her: an iced white chocolate mocha with whip, and me: a mocha frappuccino with whip.) We drank our coffees, bought two bottles of Gold Peak green tea, and left Kaladi's. Hungry, we decided to get cheesey bread from the pizza shop a few shops away from Kaladi's, but in the same building. We spent 20 minutes baking in the sun in the waiting area in front of the cash register waiting for said cheesey bread. Once we received it, I asked for a bag so we could bike to Kaitlyn's with it. The box would only fit sideways. So, Kaitlyn and I headed out with the agreement that she would carry the tea and I would carry the cheesey bread. Upon arrival to her house, thirsty and starving, we opened the box. All of the cheese had slid off the crust of the cheesey bread, and the cheesey bread had folded itself in half. We laughed about it and improvised, and had a wonderful day.
I wish that I could have more days like this, with nothing to worry about but the state of a box of cheesey bread and wether or not Kaladi's has stocked up on or tea. Unfortunately, that's not how it works, and winter has a dark sense of humor. Until next time.
End of entry.
