(Cas's Pov)
My powerful tail pushed me forward through the gradient of blue-green waters after my brother.
"Gabriel! You know it's not safe up by the reef there are humans there!" I complained, rushing after him. I could barely see the shimmer of his shiny green-yellow tail up in front of me. Lucky for me I was one of the fastest swimmers in my family. I caught up to him as fast as I could and he smirked.
"Good so you're coming?" he laughed, his playful hazel eyes ripe with mischief and his shoulder length dirty blonde hair getting into his face he was so excited.
"I'm only coming so you don't get yourself killed." I sighed, eventually giving in. Gabriel was going to get me killed one day. The two of us decided that the fastest way to the reef was through a passing ship zone that had a large chasm underneath. We knew that it was dangerous but as long as we're fast and didn't get caught we would be fine. We were almost across the bottomless looking ditch when I looked up to find a fisherman's net coming towards my oblivious brother.
"Gabriel watch out!" I screamed, swimming as fast as I could to get him to shove him of the way. In doing so my own tail got tangled up in the net and pulled be along with it. "Gabriel!" I yelled, struggling to get out which only got me even more tangled.
"Cas! Hold on!" Gabriel said grabbing my webbed hand with his own.
"No, you're going to get caught too!" I said, pushing him away from me. It didn't matter anyway, I was too tangled and it was too late. If I was going to get caught I at least didn't want my brother to get dragged along with me. Gabriels screams slowly became deaf to me as I was pulled out of the water into the open air. I wiggled back and forth but my tail was rendered useless without water. I grabbed onto the rope that was holding me back and looked down at my captor. He had caramel brown hair and sparkling olive green eyes with light freckles that ran across his cutting cheekbones. If I wasn't so terrified then I probably would have noticed just how attractive he really was but I couldn't! Not at the moment anyway. I needed to get back to my family! I was dropped onto the deck with a thump. What had I gotten myself into?!
