(Deans Pov)

I rushed up onto the deck as soon my crew members called. All they had said is that we had caught something big. When I got up to the deck the fishermen net was already pulled up with something I never expected. There was a merman, an actual merman and I just happened to catch him. He looked down at me with terrified crystal blue eyes and moppy wet pitch black hair. He had a deep blue tail and gills along his neck in which a silver type locket was dangling from. His webbed hands clutched at the rope he was entangled in and he struggled to get out, the fear in his eyes growing. I signaled my men to drop the net down and the mysterious merman fell to the deck. He scooted away from everyone as soon as possible and pushed himself up against the very side of the ship. My little brother Sammy walked up to me and whispered
"How much you think he'll go for on the market," I smirked then shrugged.
"A lot, go fill up a tub and keep it in my office," I ordered. Sammy was off and I walked up to the merman. He flailed his tail around as a last-ditch attempt to keep me away even though it hardly even affected me.
"Please just let me go." He whimpered, making himself smaller. I laugh roughly and picked him, slinging him over my shoulder. He really didn't weigh that much. He made a sort of scared noise before punching my back a bunch of times. I laughed at his attempt as one of the other crewmen tied his hands together. He continued to whimper lowly as I carried him down to my office below deck. He was so helpless it was almost cute. Sammy had set up a tub of water big enough for him just as I had ordered. I dropped him in and he hit the water with a soft little 'oof'. His tail stuck out a bit along with most of the top part of his body.
"Hey, what's your name?" I asked
"C-Castiel." He stuttered shyly.
"Well Cas, I'll come to check on you later," I said, winking at him before taking off again for the upper deck.
(Cas's Pov)
I was still trembling from the whole experience even after Dean had left. I sighed and opened up the little locket that I always wore. It just had a simple picture of my family. I had plenty of brothers and sisters, although we didn't get along that much. I closed the locket and leaned up against the side of the side of the wooden tub. I rested my head on my hands and closed my eyes, hoping to relive some of my stress. The next thing I knew I was asleep.

I strolled back to my office slowly, off in my daydreams about this new little merman, correction, my new little merman. I kept thinking about him even though I don't mean too, my mind just kinda drifts to adorable little Castiel. I shook my head and headed into my office to find that Cas had already fallen asleep with his head resting on his hands on the side of the tub. His now fluffy black hair covered one of his eyes as he slept and his cheeks had a sort of rosy glow to them. I blushed at just how cute he looked before I sat down at my desk. As I sat down Castiel yawned and rolled over. I laughed softly and smiled. I walked over and crouched down, cutting the ropes that kept his pail webbed hands hostage.
His lips curled up into a small smile in his sleep. I looked fondly down at him.
"Don't get too attached now, he's not going to be around for long," Sammy said from behind me. I looked up at my little brother curiously. "Well we are going to sell him on the market, aren't we?" I nodded slowly. Sammy shook his head and left the room. Suddenly Cas woke up with a jolt. He was breathing heavily and his eyes were darting around the room. I could tell that he had just had a nightmare.
"Woah there Cas, calm down," I said gently. Cas whipped back around towards me and as soon as he saw me he immediately tried to scootch away, causing the whole tub of water to crash over. I laughed in amusement. He looked up at me, confused for a moment until he realized that I wasn't angry and he smiled too.
"I'm sorry." He apologized softly.
"Its fine, I'm sure I scared you even though I didn't mean too," I said, smiling warmly. "Come on I'll help you up." I finished, setting the tub upright and picked him up again, placing him back in it.
"Thank you." he smiled brightly.
"No problem, Names Dean by the way." I replied, "It's about time you knew." I shrugged
"Well Dean, it's nice to really meet you." Cas smiled. I smiled back, blushing ever so slightly.
"Get some sleep Cas." I leaned down and kissed his forehead before heading off to my own room.
