Caleb POV
I had gotten back to the hotel around 9:30. Toby and I left early because he was getting a little drunk so I thought it was best to drive him back to Spencer's barn. I knew if he slept it off, Spencer wouldn't be as upset when returning home. After I dropped him off, I ended up walking back to the hotel, which was only a few miles away.It was around 10 when I got back. I had put on one of my jumpers and laid in bed, waiting for Hanna's arrival. She didn't get home till almost 1 in the morning.
"Babe, why are you back so late?" I questioned her, which I shouldn't have done.
"God damn, Caleb! Can't you just mind your business. I'm back now, aren't I." She said before rolling her eyes and walking to the bathroom.
"Han," I slowly said getting out of bed and walking to the bathroom, but she slammed the door in my face just before I could make it.
"Hanna, please talk to me. It's obvious you're upset about something." I said, hoping she'd respond. She didn't. I could hear her soft sniffles from the other side of the door.
"Princess, please let me in." I said. A few seconds later, the door began to unlock and she slowly opened the door. Tears were streaming down her eyes.
"Princess, what's wrong? Are you okay." I said, embracing her in a hug. She silently shook her head, as her tears began to soak through my shirt.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" I said, pulling away to look her in the eye. She shook her head no again.
"Ca-an we talk ab-about it in the morn-ing." She stuttered.
"Of course." I smiled weakly. I then let her go and she walked back in the bathroom and grabbed her beige purse. I noticed a small CVS bag in it, but I decided to ignore it. She sat it down beside the bed and began to undress.
"Can I wear one of you jumpers?" She said, trying to fake a smile. I shook my head yes and she walked over to my suitcase and picked out a grey one. She then pulled the jumper over her head. A few seconds later, she joined me in bed. I had her cupped in a spooning position. I slowly drifted off.
Hanna POV
I was spooned in Caleb's tight grip. I started to hear his nose whistle lightly, indicating that he was sleep. I tried my best to go to sleep, but my mind told me to stay awake. This major thought that was in my head just wouldn't go away.A few minutes later, I was still up. I decided I'd go down the hall to the ice machine, just to have the slightest reason to leave the room. I carefully wriggle myself out of Caleb's grip so that I wouldn't wake him. Of course, Caleb began to wake when I was wriggling out of his grip.
"You alright, Han?" He asked in his sleepy, groggy voice.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just gonna run down the hall to the ice machine." I said, sitting on the edge of the bed, slipping my slides on.
"Ok. But why are you awake?" He asked.
"Couldn't really go to sleep, but I'll be fine. I think I'm just not that tired."
"Ok, well we have a long day tomorrow so I think you need some sleep." Caleb said, rubbing his eyes. "I'm going back to sleep, ok babe."
"Ok," was all I said before leaning back over to him and pecked him on the lips. I then stood up from the bed and exited our room.
After a few minutes, I returned back to our room door with my hotel card and a cup full of ice. For some reason, ice had always calmed me. I slipped the hotel card in and waited for the green light to flash. Once it did, I opened the door softly so I wouldn't wake Caleb. I put the cup of ice on the dresser next to the bed and slipped my slides back off. I then climbed back into bed, hoping I can fall asleep more easily.
