-Niall's Point of View-
As I sit here in this doctors office with Lia I can't seem to sit still. I'm either tapping my foot, biting my nails or playing with my hair. I'll admit that I'm nervous about this whole thing but I'm also happy. What man wouldn't jump at the opportunity to be a father?!
"Niall what are you thinking about?" Lia grabs my hand and laces her fingers with mine. I turn to face her and she hypnotizes me with her sterling green eyes. They're so beautiful on her. She giggles and places her soft hand on my cheek.
"About being a father. I wanna see our baby. I wanna hold it in my arms. I wanna see how small it is" I caress her hand that still rests on my cheek. She smiles and I visually trace every detail of her face. The way the sides of her eyes wrinkle when she smiles, the way she bites her bottom lip when she blushes, and the way her eyes pierce into your soul when she's trying to comfort her. Everything about her. It's amazing and I'm more than happy that she's carrying my...our baby.
"Niall come on" She says pulling on my arm as the nurse stands there next to her with a clipboard in her hand. I stand up and we follow the nurse into a room that has an L.E.D. screen and a chair for Lia to lie down on.
"The doctor will be in shortly." The nurse tells us and walks out of the room closing the door behind her.
"Niall I'm scared" Lia blurts and I squeeze her hand lightly.
"Baby there's nothing to be afraid of. He didn't hurt the baby I'm sure of it, he didn't touch you anywhere near your stomach." I assure her rubbing her still small tummy lightly.
"But what if-" She begins and I place my finger to her lips.
"Shh it's gonna be okay, just stop worrying" I kiss her lips and pull away just as the doctor walks in.
"Hello Miss Payne my name is Dr.Xliyons. How are you today?"
"I'm a bit nervous but otherwise excited" She lightens and I caress her hand to calm her down more.
"Well you should be more excited than nervous. And this young lad must be your husband. It's a pleasure to meet you-"
"Niall, Niall Horan and it's a pleasure to meet you too. But may I ask how do you pronounce your last name?" I ask shaking his hand in the process.
"The X is silent so it's pronounced like Lions" He says slipping on a pair of gloves and taking out a bottle of some clear ointment. "Okay Miss Payne let's see what we have here. Can you lift your shirt a little in order for me to see your whole stomach." Lia nods lifting her shirt until it's just below her chest. Dr.Xliyons squirts a small amount of the ointment on her stomach and she lets out a light squeal.
"You Okay princess?" I ask watching her cautiously.
"Yea it's just really cold" She giggles. The doctor grabs a little wand thingy and moves it around on her stomach and something shows up on the L.E.D. screen. I look closer and I see very a small arm.
"Is-is that our baby?" I whisper and the doctor nods. "That sure is your baby Mr.Horan and it has a very healthy heartbeat. You look to be 1 month pregnant already and you'll be 2 months next week." Tears began to brim in my eyes and I feel one slip then it's wiped away by the love of my life.
"Can I get pictures? Please? I want to look at this every day until it's born." I whimper and I hear Lia softly giggle.
"Sweetheart we get pictures anyways" She says right before the doctor hands us an envelope.
"Here are the pictures from the ultrasound and your next appointment will be August 26 then your next ultrasound will be on August 29. I'll see you then. You're welcome to leave now." Lia wipes the gel off of her tummy, pulls her shirt back down and we leave the building then we get into the car.
