Feelings Drowned in the Rain

I listened to an album

called "I Clung To You Hoping We'd Both Drown"

and I couldn't help but see

how absolutely relevant that was to me.

Once upon a time,

I did.

I clung to you,

hoping we'd both drown.

Luckily for you,

you escaped from my grasp.

Luckily for you,

that's far back in your past

and you've moved on to better things.

So have I.

But I think of you.

More than that,

you haunt me.

I remmeber that day in the park,

when it rained so hard

but I swear I could hear your beating heart over the sound.

And I was so in love.

And I kissed you,

and I clung to you,

hoping we'd both drown.

But instead,

my feelings for you died

with the rain falling from the sky.

I guess that's why it didn't hurt so much when you left me.
