It was a rather boring sunday afternoon in 221B. John and Sherlock didn't get a case for a while now. Sherlock was getting cranky. John has tried everything. Boardgames were a no go. Movies and series were also a very bad idea. The only thing that didn't suck was watching the world championship darts. It was wonderful to watch Sherlock deduce the players. Guessing what they will throw, what they ate, what they did last night.

But this sunday afternoon was diffrent. John had started a conversation about the upcoming wedding of Greg and Molly. And it was getting impossible to hide his feelings for the detective. Yet Sherlock failed to notice.

''I still don't get why people would marry. It's a waste of time and money. It's just a paper. A title. An economic joke'' Sherlock said as he layed down. Looking at the ceiling. ''Well... I think it has some beauty... At least, if you marry for the right reasons'' John added. Sherlock sat up. Looking at John. ''Are there wrong reasons then?" He asked. John nodded. ''of course. Forced marriage because of a pregnancy, because of peer pressure. Because of financial reasons... You name it'' he explained. Sherlock frowned. ''Then what is the right reason?" He asked. John sighed and looked at the detective. Sitting down on the coffee table. ''Love. Sherlock. People marry for love. When you meet someone you can't be without. When every second without them feels like an hour. When all you can think about is them. When you feel this... This urge to kiss, to hold them. When you can't imagine your life without them. When a life without them seems dark, unpleasant... Just horrible. When you can't think of a single thing you would change about them. When everything is perfect. Their hair, face. Their voice and manners...'' John said and sighed, but he kept looking st Sherlock. He didn't want to seem suspicious. Sherlock frowned and scanned John's face. Thinking deeply. ''You found your person... That person you described... You found the woman you want to marry'' he said carefully. John's eyes widen. ''Well, I don't think they would ever even consider being with me in the first place. Let alone marry'' he said. Sherlock didn't say anything. He just stared into John's eyes. And John stared back. John couldn't help but lean in. Slowly, careful. He needed a back up plan for when Sherlock got angry or something. And just as John finally decided to just go for it there was a knock on the door. Sherlock stood up and opened the door. Oblivious to what was about to happen. John sighed deeply and looked down. Rubbing his face.

''Sorry to interupt boys, but there is good news! There is a client waiting for you, downstairs. He couldn't come up the stairs. He's in a wheelchair'' Miss Hudson said. Smiling. Sherlock jumped up and down. ''Finally! A case! Oh this is great!" He said. Kissing her cheek as he ran downstairs. ''Just bloody terrific...'' John mumbled. Miss Hudson gave a compassionate look. ''what's wrong John?" She asked. ''Oh nothing to worry about, miss Hudson. It's... It's just a little complicated'' he said. She hugged him. ''Please know you can always talk to me. Alright?" She answered. John softly smiled and nodded. ''I know. Thank you. And you know what. Maybe I will. Could we have tea later today? Alone?" He suggested. She nodded in agreement. And before she could say anything Sherlock ran back into the room. ''John, are you comming or what?" He said and ran back downstairs. ''Off you go now deary'' Miss Hudson said and winked. John smiled and went downstairs as well.

The case wasn't the best case yet. But it was interesting. A young man was in love. But he's afraid that his love interest was either in trouble or a catfish. John never expected Sherlock to accept such a case. But the man looked so desperate. Sherlock accepted because he wanted to help the man. John was worried Sherlock would hurt the man and comment on his dissability. Not intentionally of course. John knew Sherlock had a kind heart.

''Why did you take this case?" John asked later that night. ''Because of our conversation earlier... I... Well... Maybe it's his person... The right reason to marry'' he said. John softly smiled. ''That's not the Sherlock I am used to'' he said. Sherlock just shrugged. ''I saw before how you think about marriage and how important it is to you... So it was the right thing to do. And also, the man is in a wheelchair. If I declined he would think I'm horrible against disabled people'' he said. John looked down. ''That's what I was worried about too. I know you're not like that. But you know how short sighted people can be'' John said.
