Chapter Fourteen:
"Good morning ladies and gentlemen." Leo announced, walking onto the stage with a microphone clad in his hand and an enthusiastic smile plastered on his face. "I am glad that you all could make it on time."
"Of course we did when you said you'd kick us out of the tour if we did not." Landon whispers under his breathe from beside me. I stifle a laugh that threatens its way up my throat and bite my lip to hide my smile.
I feel his eyes on me then as the giggle forces its way through my lips, slightly. I glance in his direction and can't keep myself together when he mouths to me 'it's the truth.'
'Shut up' I mouth back and stick my tongue out at him. He then gently slaps my leg and signals for me to keep it down because he's trying to listen. I shake my head as my eyes drift back to the stage where Leo is discussing just how excited he is to be managing this tour and just how much he is looking forward to opening night.
"You all are such talented young artist and I just know that people are going to be talking about this tour for the rest of their lives, now, let's get to it. Lifeline, you're up." Leo finishes before jumping down to join the rest of us in the pit.
Ryan, Ely, Noah, and myself then take our cue and head backstage where we've rehearsed to come in one by one when a spotlight centres on each of our places. The lights are then dimmed in the entire stadium, our clue to get into position.
Ely's spotlight is the first to drop, a silhouette of him and his drums appearing to the crowd. Next is Noah's from where he stands on my left side, followed with Ryan's spotlight, and finally, my own. This is our final notice before then, lights flash onto all four of us and immediately Ely is counting us in.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Our set ends with us introducing the next band before the spotlight dims and completely shuts off, allowing us just enough time to quickly get off stage before The
Daisies is making their way on and their songs are beginning.
The adrenaline of performing was buzzing through the four of us as the excitement of being on stage hyped through us. We were jumping backstage for the entirety of the girls first song before we had finally gained enough composure to speak.
"Amazing." Noah said.
"Brilliant." Ely agreed.
"Definitely best set yet." Ryan concurs.
"We are so getting our own tour!" I finish, a little presumptuous but now was not the time for being realistic as the past two months from auditioning to rehearsals could have only come from a dream.
"Totally, though we should probably go watch the rest though." Ryan says, and immediately all of our bodies are being morphed back into the pit with Leo and The Divisions who is the final group to perform before the duet, girls/boys performances, and then the finale.
I wind up back in my original place next to Landon who's got a smile on his face and a comment on the tip of his tongue as soon as he sees me.
"I've never seen you look so alive." He whispers, only loud enough for me to hear.
"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" I question.
"That depends on what you think." He said, simply and with finality in his voice. It only leaves me confused and unsure of what he even means, something that is very unusual for when Landon talks. Typically, he always speaks what's on his mind.
