Chapter Ten:

"Andy!" I heard someone call from behind me as we all begun to move out way into the house. I slowed down my step and turned to see Landon making his way towards me, everyone else kept on moving passed us. "Can I talk to you?" Landon asked me.

I whipped my head around to look at where everyone had already entered the house... should I?

"Don't worry, I already told Reece that I wanted to talk to you about something. We'll just slip in, they won't even notice." Landon persuaded.

"Okay, let's go." I tell him as the both of us head to the waters edge. We continue to walk in complete silence along the coast. The stars above hold my gaze, they are so beautiful out here away from the city lights.

"I'm sorry about the tabloids." Landon speaks up, his eyes pointed directly at me.

"Is this what you wanted to talk about?" Landon nods his head. "Landon, I told you this morning that it's not your fault besides who cares? It's not as if any of those rumours are true... we're friends and you have a girlfriend." I ramble, definitely sounding like I am trying to convince myself of something.

"No seriously Andy. It is completely my fault and you've been acting differently ever since this morning and I just need for you to know that I'm really sorry." Landon continues.

"Landon, stop apologizing. I'm fine." I stop as I say this. Landon, too, stops and look down at me with his blue eyes.

"You're sure?" He genuinely clarifies. I nod my head which seems to convince Landon enough so that we can keep walking.

"Do you ever wish that you could time travel?" I ask Landon who has joined me in watching the night sky.

"Like go back in time?" I nod my head. "Sometimes but I doubt going back will change anything." Landon remarks.

"But would you want to? Even if you knew that nothing could change, would you go back just to relive something?" I further interrogate.

"I would." Landon affirms. "What about you?"

"I definitely would but that would kind of be a terrible superpower, like if yo could actually time travel but not do anything to actually make a difference." I say, laughing as I think about having that as my superpower.

"There are so many worse superpowers than that." Landon laughs, probably at my randomness. I give him a look so that he'll elaborate and he gets the hint immediately. "Like the superpower to say everything that's going through your mind, it would be as if you were always on a truth serum."

"I don't know about that, I think that by saying everything on your mind there wouldn't be so many miscommunications." I defend it jokingly.

"True but I still think that it would be an awful superpower." Landon says.

"What if you had the superpower that turned you into an inanimate object, permanently. That would be horrible if you that was your superpower." I excitedly say.

"That would be pretty terrible." Landon agrees. "I can't believe that we are discussing terrible superpowers." He laughs.

"What? I think it's a very productive use of our time." I sarcastically remark.

"Definitely." Landon chuckles. "Because who knows when someone is going to show up and grant us the gift of the best superpower of the absolute worst."

"You never know, Landon. It's best to be prepared." I warn him. "Besides, what would you rather talk about?"

"Well, I was actually planning to ask you if you wanted to cross number six off of our bucket list next week?" Landon asks me. "I was thinking we could invite the whole group too, you know make it like a bonding thing."
