I begin packing away what little I own into the small suitcase I had been given before I was sent to this hellhole. My mother always had good intentions of looking after me, I understand that she grew up with a large family but sending me to this place was not a welcoming warm hug like she described a family to be like.

"(Y/N) COME DOWN FOR DINNER!" Yelled the caretaker. She wasn't the most pleasant of women but she feeds and takes care of me so I could never hate her, just dislike her.

"Ill be there in a second!" I yelled back while putting the picture of my mum in the suitcase. I smile while shutting the suitcase and shoving it under my rusty old bed. I exit my small wooden room and walk down the stairs to be greeted by one of the reasons I want to leave.

"And here I thought you were taking so long because you were fixing your ugly, how disappointing" Drake said with an upset look on his face (If your name is drake you can change it).

"No you just have incredibly poor taste because you think your good looking" I said pushing past him. "Also if you think I'm ugly you obviously haven't looked in the mirror" I said laughing and sitting down at the table.

(Time skip)

I finished up cleaning the dishes, stacking them in the cupboards and hanging up the towels for the next poor soul that has to take my place in washing the dishes.

"Alright (y/n) time for bed" The caretaker remarked walking into her bedroom and shutting the door behind her. I walk up the stairs, enter my room while locking the door and pull out the suitcase from under my bed. I pick it up and walk over to the window, looking out into the vast sea of star. I begin climbing out the window and drop onto the balcony of the caretakers room silently, I don't make a sound as my feet hit the grass. I don't look back as I run for an unknown opportunity in front of me while laughing from the thrill of freedom.

"Im sorry mum but I can't settle for anything less than the love you gave me" I say as I slowed down my pace. I come to a stop in the middle of a grass field and look around for my ride to show up. I hear the the horn sound off and the flashing light of the speeding train coming towards me. The gush of wind nearly knocks me off my feet as it speeds past me but that gush of wind sparks my adrenaline. I begin running just in front of an empty carriage, I place my foot on a metal pole and hoist myself into the carriage with a thud. I lean up completely out of breathe with my heart beating out of excitement. I look up at the stars and take a deep breathe "GOODBYE YOU SMALL STUIPD TOWN!" I yell at the top of my lungs. Although I have no idea where I'm going or what my life will be like, I'm sure of one thing. I'm not giving up and I sure as hell won't be going back.

(Time Skip)

I feel a under jolt awakening my senses, making me jump to my feet from my slumber. We've stopped, I creak open the wooden doors to see a large buildings and bustling crowds of people. I step back and take a deep breathe, I slam the doors open and make a brake for it. I sprint over the concrete to the crowds, the only sound I could hear was my heart beat. People look at me, with more shock in their eyes because of the guards chasing behind me. I make twists and turns to get away from them, making my way onto a busy street. I slide behind a wall of a building, catching my breathe when I realise I'm no longer being followed.

"That was a struggle" I said blowing some of my hair out of my face and sighing. I get up from my crouched position and walk out of the alley way, into the crowd. I look around the a place to go before being shoved to the ground.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry" A man said reaching a hand down as a gesture to help me up. I declined the offer by getting up myself and crossing my arms as some type of protection from this stranger. I look up to see he was in a suit with short black hair and an odd white piece of hair at the front. His dark eyes looking me up and down as if trying to figure out my life story, I finally break the silence.

"I got it, id best be off" I said about to walk away.

"Wait" He said, I stopped instantly like it was an order. "You don't look like you really have a place too go, it isn't safe for a teenager like you to be wondering around like that" He said looking at me with his arms crossed. I just nod in response feeling like I can't go against what he says. "Come with me" He said walking away. I stay still and clench my fists.

"Why should I?!" I yell at him. He turns around and smiles.

"To go eat of course" He said turning back around. The thought of food made my foot move on their own and soon enough I was right behind him. We walked past many buildings and down many streets, he stopped in front of a beautiful looking modern house. It was rather large than the other houses around and looked newer than anything I had see before. "This is an orphanage owned by one of my friends" He said not turning around. The sound of the words orphanage made me turn on my heel and start to sprint the other way, there is no fucking way I'm going to another one of those. "Where are you going?" I hear him say while grabbing onto my arm nearly ripping it off with the strength he has.

"LEAVE ME ALONE! IM NOT GOING!" I scream into his face only to be met with a calm warm stare from him in return.

"My name is Shiro and I would like to help you, I promise I won't hurt you. My friends name is Allura and she strives to save others so she built this place with the help of her brother Coran" He said calmly, his words made me stop struggling away from his grasp. "I won't force you to do anything but please come inside and have a meal, if you don't like it you may leave after" He said grabbing my hand and guiding me into the beautiful looking building. I was greeted with a welcoming atmosphere and by a gorgeous young lady with stunning white hair.

"Welcome back from work Shiro!" She beamed with a smile.

"Hello Allura, id like you too meet..." Shiro said gesturing to me, waiting for me to state my name.

"(y/n)" I say shifting uncomfortably. She walks over and bends down to look me in the eye, she smiles.

"Would you like something to eat (y/n)?" She said reaching out her hand, waiting for me to take it. I nod my head and smile a little while grabbing her, she leads my into the kitchen and to a table with 8 seats. I take a seat and waited for a couple of minutes to be pleasantly surprised by a slice of cake. I smiled as I began eating heaven itself while hearing Allura and Shiro talking to each other.

"Lance finally convinced his mum to let him stay here with the others" Shiro said chucklingly a little.

"Im glad to here that, there aren't many orphans on this side of town so turning it into a boarding house isn't such a bad idea" Allura answered back.

"The rest of them have settled in well, yes?" Shiro said look at Allura.

"Yes they are, also when will they get back from school?" Allura questioned

"They are all helping lance pack and Keith has detention" Shiro said shaking his head. I finished my cake and stared out the window. Who are these people they are talking about? School? Are they my age? They sound like a happy family.... are they really going to let me stay?
