P-A-R-L-L-E-L. Parallel. It means never meeting only this is what I had thought. My third grade teacher said 'it's like two lines that will never meet'. But in my story, the two parallel lines did meet...

My name is Alya Sherief, I am an average 15 year-old that lives on the wild side of the world. It is a place not many people has seen or been too. I live on the twin green peaks of Auckland. My side of the mountain is called 'Weltyn Rise' and her twin sister 'Buftyn Rise' .Both mountains are parallel to each other. Both equally beautiful and loyal. Both mountains have a different culture. My side of the mountain has residents that are of the Hindu-Bhuddist religion -which I take after- and the other mountain is one that follows the emo culture. The emo culture is when people listen to deep rock and wear black. They live in black. I don't see the point of life following the emo culture; it's loud and the music is deafening. In fact we had a field trip (from school) to the twin mountain, it was smothered in black. All the buildings sugar coated in black. In their town they played loud rock music and all the resident wore black. To me this was a hell of nightmare. Maybe one day I will perhaps see the better of their culture...

Life on Weltyn Rise is beautiful, it is a place of serenity, peace and love. Love that is so strong it cannot be affected by any phase. It was this beautiful love that I got to experience during the Esther festival...
