Was it crazy of Erin to continue to keep her daughter a secret from everyone? Was she being to overprotective? Yes, there are times that criminals try to use families against detectives, but did it really make it right for her to keep Aurora a secret from everyone she worked with. Hank, of course, thought it was the right thing to do, but Erin had really bonded with everyone, and felt like she could trust them, but at the same time, for her being so closed off, she wasn't completely sure if she could really trust everyone or not. It was ridiculous to feel that way. She could trust each and everyone single one of them with her life. So, what was the problem? Why hasn't she told them about her daughter?
For now, she was going to continue to keep her secret until she could figure out the best to way to drop the bomb on everyone that she had daughter. Plus, wasn't it only fair that she tell Aurora's father first? That is where Erin's struggle lied the most. How was she going to tell the man she once had a fling with that she had gotten pregnant and kept it a secret from him all these years?
Erin had a lot of thinking to do. For the time being, she was just going to continue to focus on the job, and leave her personal life out of it. It was for the best until she figured out what exactly she wanted to do and how she was going to do it. It's kind of funny how much thinking it was taking for something so silly, but Erin couldn't help it.

~ Aurora's School Trip ~
Usually, there wouldn't be a school trip to a firehouse, usually, they would have a fire truck come to the school, the kids would check it out, and they'd tell the kids about what it takes to be a fireman, and so forth. But, this was an exception, Chief Boden was more open to the little ones coming to see the firehouse for themselves. Yes, their firehouse was out of Aurora's school district, but when Boden found out from Donna, that her friend that worked in the elementary school, was having problems with getting someone to come to the school, Donna knew she could convince her husband to help out. The kids had already gotten to hear from local cops, and even a doctor and nurse came by to tell the kids about their careers. This was one more thing Mrs. Baxter wanted to do for her students.
Aurora was so excited. The only downfall was, her mother hadn't been home that morning to hear her tell her all about it. Erin knew she had a field trip today, but had forgotten that it was to a Fire station. It was a bad day for Erin. Aurora had to be left with a babysitter, as Erin got a call to work and 4 a.m. that morning. There was a murder and Voight wanted her there ASAP. Thank goodness one of the older ladies in their apartment complex was always willing to help Erin out with Aurora. She always knew that if Mrs. Rodgers was in their apartment when she woke up, mommy was already at work.
Yes, it was always disappointing, but she understood, even at her age, she understood that her mother's job could be a bit demanding at times. At least Pawpaw made sure to give her mommy a day of whenever the school had a field trip that parents could also tag along on. Erin was all about time with her daughter and Hank knew that, and he would never let the job keep them apart.
Erin had left Aurora a note in her lunch box, apologizing for not being there when she woke up, and of course it said I love you as well. Aurora always loved when her mother wrote her special notes for her day. The seem to always bring a smile to her face. There were actually times that Aurora, herself, left her mommy some notes in her coat before she'd leave for work. She also liked to draw her pictures, as well. She always figured that if her mommy was having a bad day, maybe either of the things she left for her mommy, would cheer her up in some way.
