Maddison's pov

Day 1

Seven people and 30 days.

All of us stand in front of a huge gate which says ' Isolation Camp'. Going to the isolation camp is a tradition followed by the town we live in. It is a very tiny town where everyone knows everyone.

It is our turn now.

Our being; me, Maddison, my crush and the golden boy of our school Ashton, my dear best friend Adam, and his year long girlfriend Carla, my really close friend who is more of a brother, Nathan, and then Kathrine and Hunter, people I do not like.

We walk to the main building, which looks like a reception. There a lady gives us instructions and maps and stuff. So basically there will be a building nearby in which a guard and a doctor will be staying they are also the caretakers. We will be staying in apartment buildings each of us having a room for ourselves- I am so glad I that I don't have to share a room with anyone. We have a gym and a few more luxuries like a swimming pool, a small café- owned by the grandson of the man who came up with this camp and might I add this grandson has a grandson who is my age. We also have a room which could be used for dancing or playing music and then there is another room called as the gaming room – something I really don't understand about.

No I am not the girly girl, I just don't understand video games. No judging okay.

We all go to our respective rooms to freshen up and then we could do whatever we wanted to. After I freshen up and arrange a few of my things in my room I lie down on my bed. I have to say the camp has progressed a lot, from the stories I have heard from my mom and her friends this is a huge change. According to them the camp was nothing luxurious, it was raw and very tough to get through. They called it the worst thirty days of their lives. I can't say that I am not pleased with the way the camp has improved.

I heard a knock on my door. I lazily got up fixed my hair and opened the door to be greeted by my friends Ashton- who is not really my friend, I don't want him to be just my friend, anyways he was accompanied by Adam and Carla.

"Madddddyyyyyyyy I missed you so much, my man girl friend."

"Carla please control your man, he is losing his mind!" Carla just laughed at my comment a blew me a kiss.

"Anyways, Maddy would you like to go get something to eat?" this time it was Ashton talking.

"Of course, give me two minutes and we will leave."

After collecting a few of my things and making sure that I look at least presentable I switched off my lights and left with the three of them. As soon as we left my room Adam and Carla said that they would join us later and that we should enjoy. Me and Ashton decided to go the café and have lunch there instead of cooking something. While our walk we spoke about things like school and family and future goals. Once we reached the café we asked for two burgers and fries with soda. We decided to sit out in the balcony which had amazing view of the whole camp. Like a true gentleman he pulled the chair for me and I smiled at him gratefully. He sat down and said "So, are you okay here, you know with Hunter being here." Listening to his name got me back to reality, a reality where it's not only rainbows and unicorns. " I am okay, don't worry." I smiled at him.

"I understand that it must have been tough for you and honestly, I can relate to you know since me and Katherine are childhood friends, but now you see what she has become."

I touched his hand and gave him a small smile, hoping to motivate him.

"Forget that I wanted to actually ask you something. We have been friends for so long and it's like you understand me really well and I just wanted to ask you if......." Ashton was cut off by my annoying brother who invited himself to our table at the perfect timing- note my sarcasm.

After eating and spending time with the both of them I made my way back to my room to be stopped by the guy I have been avoiding like the plague for the last year, Hunter.

"Maddy please just talk to me once" he pleaded and I almost gave in, but was stopped by Adam as he called out to Hunter to join him on his chill hour to the gaming room. Hunter and Adam have been friends for a very long time and hence, I didn't want to disrupt or come between their friendship. Of course Adam kept his distance from Hunter and assured me that I am more important to him.

I decided to call it an early night, I am sure tomorrow will not be as relaxing. Earlier today when the lady was giving us instruction she did mention us having school but not academics, basic skills. I knew I was going to need a goodnights sleep and as much energy possible.
