Rappelling might be considered as a dangerous and adventurous sport, however, for me it is not something scary. I know, I am not the most adventurous person, but the thing with rappelling is that it is a part of my childhood.
Back in grade 4 my mom put me and siblings in this summer camp where we did all these adventure sports. It was a very pleasant summer, a summer where I was truly happy.
So, today our first activity was going to be rappelling. No one was really freaking out except Katherine. I swear I know that a lot of people would pay a million dollars to see her do rappelling. Why? Because she only knows how to cake her face and bully people. She is not the queen bee of our school, we never really had those stereotypes. Since it's a small city everyone knows everyone and hence, everyone is popular.
Anyways, back to the topic it is 9am and we are all dressed in our workout clothes, we have all go to our positions and suit up with all the safety things- I forgot what they are called. Our instructors informed us about the whole process and I remembered half of it at least. I did as told and felt it all come back to me. I know rappelling should be done on a mountain and stuff, but since weren't really good or anything we were doing it on a 7 story building, it was pretty high and my fear of heights started getting to me, but I managed to overcome, after all I did not want to seem like some loser. Yes, I have a huge pride.
In the end of the activity all of us, except Katherine of course, it was so funny. She had worn a skirt to begin with. The instructors made her change, obviously, then she made a whole fuss about how she could die and how much of a big loss it would be for the world. I tired no to laugh, but I couldn't control it for more than 2 minutes and I started laughing hysterically. I was glad that I wasn't the only person finding it funny because I could see Carla and Adam laughing their butts off and Ashton was trying his level best, but the best was Nathan he was on the ground with tears coming out of his eyes, and the other person who I don't really like was smiling too.
Once she was going back she glared at me, why me?
It was 12:30 and all of us were starving so we went to the little café to eat lunch. I was walking with Nathan, when Ashton walked up to me and held my hand.
"Okay lovebirds, I am going to leave you two alone. Don't get too naughty!" I hate Nathan.
"So would you like to like go on a date with me, like nothing really huge because I can't do anything you know really special because"
I cut him off right there "I would love to go out with you Ashton."
"Yes!" he did a little happy dance, which was ADORABLE!
"Sorry, I didn't mean to do that in front of you. That was really embarrassing!"
"It's okay it was very cute indeed, just like you!"
"Hey I am not cute, I am hot!"
"Whatever helps you sleep!"
I love how easy going but friendship-relationship is with Ashton. I don't think about what I am saying or what I am wearing or anything. That is probably that advantage of being friends for a long time.
When we ordered our lunch and the seven of us- yes all of us- sat together to eat.
"So are you two a thing now?" Katherine asked, clearly not happy.
"Not that it's any of your business, but yes, we are also going on a date today." To my surprise Ashton spoke up. I don't really expect him to protect me or anything especially not against Katherine, since they have been friends since kindergarten.
