Chapter 4

Yesterday was perfect.

PERFECT. I was in a great mood in the morning, until of course I was bombarded with questions by Carla, Adam and Nathan. The three of them entered my room not bothering to even knock.

Carla of course was the most excited, whereas Adam and Nathan just wanted to know if they had to have the "talk" with Ashton. Of course I asked not to, but knowing them they will still give him a hard time.

Anyways, today we have a cooking class, but before the actual class the instructors have a few announcements.

"You all will be allowed to use your phones for two hours in a day and during weekends you will have it for four hours and your family can visit you during that time." This news definitely made all of us happy, being all mobile addicts living without our phones for so long was very difficult.

We were learning how to make lasagna today. We were paired in two's and since Nathan was left alone me and Ashton asked him to join us.

"Yeah sure, it is better to join you two because you are anew couple so you won't go all PDA on me, but I'm pretty sure Adam and Carla will not hold back." Sometimes I really wonder why I am friends with this idiot, but I know I can't live without him. We have known each other since middle school and our parents are also pretty close. We actually met at the park where he taught me to climb a tree and we stayed there talking for a very long time till our parents came to look for us and that is how they became friends and Nathan became a permanent part of my life.

After our cooking class, which might I add was a disaster. Mine turned out edible, which was so much more than the other two. I don't even know what to call the mush type thing made by Hunter and Katherine and what Carla and Adam made was the ingredients thrown together- literally thrown- and just a baked. It is an understatement to say that out instructors were disappointed and we are going to make coffee next class. Such joy.

We were back in our rooms with our phones with us for two hours I had spoken to my mom and replied to all my messages when I got a video call.

"Hey Doll."

"Hi Matt."

"How is my favorite sister in the whole world doing?"

"I am your only sister Matt." I rolled my eyes at how immature my brother could be.

I have two older brothers. Andrew is our oldest brother, he is 25 and working with a beautiful fiancé, Ira. We weren't really close because of the age difference between which is of 7 years. Matt is 20 and much closer to me. He is the smartest of us and hence, he is studying at Preston to become a neurologist and is single as ever. He is just the perfect child, great grades, was in the football team, the quarterback might I add, and he also has a great sense of humor, not something that I will admit in front of him.

After an hour long talk with him I check my phone once again then go ahead to submit my phon. I am a little scared to break rules normally, but if I am annoyed I break a lot of rules. I am not a perfect student. I have decent grades and I have gotten into trouble too, but nothing too serious.

During my walk I heard a few hushed voices.

"Of course not, she is not as important as you."

"you will always be my number one girl baby."

"No no Maddy is not going to change our relationship, I love you remember."

I leaned forward to see who it was and it was Ashton. Who was he talking to?

Should I confront him about it?

No, he would think that I am a creep for eavesdropping.

But, who is this person he loves and who I won't replace.

God, this is infuriating.

I went ahead and submitted my phone and went to the café for my date with Carla. I decided that I should talk to her about this situation.

"I think you should definitely confront him. It's the best way to get it out of your way."

"I am not sure about that, I don't want to find out something that is going to upset me, I mean after everything with Hunter I do not want to be hurt."

"I understand where you are coming from, but darling it is better done sooner than later."

"I guess. I will do it right after this."

"It's is going to be fine babe."

After our lunch we made our way to our rooms only to be sopped by a seen that made me want to run all the way home and hide under my covers and cry. Ashton and Katherine kissing. Carla cleared her throat, which clearly caught their attention. Katherine had a smirk plastered to her face, whereas Ashton looked shocked and a teeny bit guilty.

"Maddy I am"

"Save it Ashton she does not deserve this." Carla, my knight in shining amour.

She held my hand and pulled me to my room, as soon as we entered I let go and started crying my eyes out. She hugged me and tried her best to comfort me. I stopped crying after a while. I told her Carla that I needed to be alone and thanked her for taking care of me.

It might sound stupid that I was crying over someone who I dated for hardly 2-3 days. I know we weren't even official, but what hurt more was that he decided to do it with Katherine. Katherine had always hated me for some unknown reason and this was not the first time a boy cheated on me with her and she knew it. She knew how much pain I went through last time and it was almost as if she wanted me to go through it again.

I heard a knock on the door, I opened it to see Ashton with two black eyes, Adam an Nathan.

"Please let me explain Maddy"

I cut him off before he could say anything else.

"I really don't think that there is anything left to explain, but I will listen to whatever you have to say but not today. I need space Ashton, please."

"Alright, I will take whatever you give to me. I am sorry. Bye Maddy."

After that I just read a book and fell asleep. I have to get some answers tomorrow.
