Christmas was always a big holiday to the Collier family– their favorite to celebrate. Every year they decorated their house– both inside and outside– they made Christmas cookies from scratch, drank Grandma Collier's special eggnog and threw themselves fully into the traditions they held close to their hearts. Christmas–and the month of December itself– was a time to spend with family, hold each other close and celebrate the good things that had happened. It was a time of the year that Hailey Collier looked forward to the most.

This year though, well this year was different. There would be no decorations, no Christmas cookies. Her dad wouldn't accidentally slip a little more rum than usual into his mother's eggnog recipe and deny it when her mother would ask him if he did. There was no tree, no gifts, not even a slight tune of Christmas music. She wouldn't even have a mother anymore. You could say she didn't have a father either, not much of one seeing as he volunteered for a deployment with an undetermined length– only days after her mother's death and hours after Christmas passed.

Instead, Hailey Collier was being shipped off to Isla Nubar– the exotic island the world has come to known as 'dinosaur island', formally known as the home of Jurassic World– to visit her Uncle, Owen Grady, who trains the parks raptors. Both still grieving the loss of a loved one, Hailey and Owen are having trouble coming to terms with their grief and what will become of their lives.

But when a new and lethal, genetic hybrid escapes from it's paddock, putting the thousands of park visitors lives at stake, Hailey finds herself teamed up and trying to stay alive with the two boys she met on her flight, while her Uncle is out trying to not only save the park visitors, but the nephews of Claire, a fellow co-worker and failed romantic interest, and of course, his niece.

In a race against time and in matters of life and death, Hailey discovers three things:

1) Don't steal your Uncle's motorcycle and go joy-riding through a park filled with dinosaurs

2) It's okay to let people in, they just might say the right things

And 3) Maybe the boy she met on the plane...wasn't as much of an asshole as she thought.
