A Christmas Miracle [L.M]

Chapter 4

Waking up by the feeling of joy was something Hailey wasn't used to. She had this dream in her head that she one day would wake up with a loving mother and father. But she never expected to have a brother either.

A knock on the door was heard when had turned off her alarm. She looked at the door where her mother walked in. Her mother had a beautiful smile on her lips while holding her school uniform.

"It looks perfect, doesn't it?" She asked. Hailey looked at her mother for a while before answering.

"Yes, mother. Thank you!" Hailey said as she sat up in the bed. Her mother sat down on the bed beside her while taking some hair away from her face. She studied her face for a while before talking.

"It's weird hearing you be formal with me. You've been acting weird lately, not wanting to speak in Korean or even hang out with anyone but Wonho. Now you hanged out with Minhyuk all of the sudden?" She asked with a laugh in the end. Hailey started to smile a little by the thought.

"I'm sorry for being weird. I guess it's been tough in school.. But me and the others are friends again. So please don't worry" Hailey said while smiling. Her mother nodded her head and walked towards the door before turning around again.

"Your brother asked if you wanted a ride to the boys by him today after school?" She asked. Hailey looked at her while thinking.

"W..."

"It's Thursday sweetie"

"Oh yeah forgot! Uhm he can drive me if he treats me some food first!"

Her mother laughed and nodded her head before walking out of the room. Hailey took her phone out and searched for a text from Meli about meeting up before school, but there were none. She changed into her school uniform and fixed herself before walking out to the breakfast table. And there she was, Meli.

"There you are.. I thought you would message me or something" Hailey said as she sat down.

"What? I never do that... I'm always here eating breakfast" Meli said and smiled for herself. Hailey looked at her before remembering her big brother who sat right in front of Meli. She laughed and looked at her mother who gave her a rice bowl. She thanked and started to eat.

"So I'm picking you up from school and will drive you to the building, what do you want to eat after school?" Her brother asked.

"Hmm.. B..Bulgogi!!" She said with excitement in her voice. He nodded his head and walked away from the table. She looked after him and thought about Minhyuk and what had happened yesterday. She gulped and choked on her water.

"So what you're saying is that I have to stay with Hailey all weekend?"

Hailey looked at her friend who spoke to her parents in the phone. They walked down the road towards the exit where Haileys brother was waiting. Hailey waved her hand towards him, making him wave back with a smile on his lips.
