Chapter Three

------------------------------------------------

We ended up talking for a little while. Though I could feel numerous pairs of eyes were looking in my direction. The clock on the wall said 11:49AM meaning I had 11 minutes before the bell for lunch rings. So I go out of the pool and walked back to the changing rooms. Of course having said goodbye to Tyler.

I get changed and quickly used the hair dryer. It's good to have naturally straight hair.

The bell rings and I go and get my lunch.

I line up and find Tyler behind me whispering in my ear. "Don't have the meatloaf, it'll cause problems after. However, the pizza's fine though."

"Thanks for the warning. I'll remember that" I smiled. After paying for my food, I stand there for a second wondering where Aidan was. However my pondering doesn't last long, as I see and hear Aidan - like everyone in the cafeteria. "Vanessa! Sis! Over Here!" Subtle.

I walk over to the table and say hi to the 'guys' Shane, Luke, Josh, Michael and Connor.

They seemed nice, after making a small introduction. A few more of people turned up making me introduce myself to them too. Now there was Shane, Luke, Michael, Conner, Tom, Sam and Tyler.

All of which kept looking at me, making me slightly uncomfortable. Tyler informed everyone that I was a good swimmer. Which even Aidan was surprised about, guess I haven't told him about my sporting talents.

The day was pretty similar - glares from the girls and stares from the guys. I had already learnt all what my classes contained, so for most of the day I doodled on my pad and pretended like I was actually listening.

Then in the middle of English realisation hit me like a tonne of bricks. All Aidan's friends were the boys the girls wanted and the guys they would die for to be friends with. Sure, they were good looking in their own ways, all probably had chiselled chests and well built bodies. No wonder I was being permanently made uncomfortable, every girl was jealous of me...

At the end of the day, I waited by Aidan's car, my father said it'll take some time to ship my car from New York. So I had to deal with the compromise of sharing Aidan's for the time being.

Whilst he made out with some bimbo, I leaned against the car and slumped to the ground and started to draw. Nothing in particular at first, then the image started to develop. From just an eye to a face, a face I'd probably seen before, his features flawless, so delicate and so precise. Yet I don't recall seeing him before, or meeting him. Yet I knew deep down I knew who it was and that we had met once upon a time.

I put the drawing back in my bag as I saw Aidan approaching without the blonde bimbo. "Sorry sis" was all he said as he got in the car and drove us home. I went straight to my room and unpacked, as I did tears were brimming over the edge of my eyes. All this brought bad memories and the good ones I once had with my mother.

Aidan came in and helped me unpack my belongings. "Hey who's this? I think I've seen him before" He asked whilst holding up a photo pointing to a boy.

"My old neighbour Zachary." I took the photo off him and set it by my bedside table.

"Oh, the photo looks a bit old, when was it taken?" He asked out of the blue.

"Urmm... about three, four years ago I think. Why?" I can tell this is going to lead somewhere.

"Oh nothing I guess. Never mind just leave it." He says unpacking more of my memories.

"Ok. So... what's with your friends? They like to stare."
