Of course, I had waited at the intersection like a stupid, needy wimp.

I waited fifteen minutes, maybe more, for Derek. However, I forgot that he couldn't meet me here, since his blonde sweetheart had topped his priorities now.

I mean what. Of course he doesn't have to always be here, or be here at all to literally just to walk me half-heartedly to school. I can walk just by myself like most of the kids in our neighborhood do anyways.

Well, apparently I can't, as I had walked in circles around the block trying to navigate to campus. I guess it was because I was always lost in thought thinking about him and I on our way, because I clearly didn't even subconsciously remember how to get from point A to B from my house; aside from the intersection.

I kinda recognized the street layouts, so I made it halfway or so in the direction of Franklin High, and then I realized something that made me want to twist my throat in frustration—

I could've navigated using my phone's global positioning.

Frantically punching in FHS's address (after having Googled it), I finally made it to the courtyard, which was filled with idle amounts of people, if not nearly empty.

Again, it took me a second of checking the time and once again, realized I had screwed up.

I zoomed through the halls, nearly tripping on thin air, and made it in front of room B-14, and tentatively gripped the fading steel handle, and pushed it open and there had been a scrawny substitute in place of Mr. Chisen, who took nothing more than a glance from some outdated newspaper he had been reading.

"You're late," he stated. I nodded.

And for the first time, I guess I was.

also i just realised that this doesn't even get sci-fi-y (was that even a word wtf it was like a pronunciation) until near the end so uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

okay so btw sorry if i keep switching between british english and american english conventions like 'realised' vs 'realized' dan and phil are too big of an influence as well as phan books by the amazing authors, phanci and rickyblitzz. they better than i'll ever be thanks
