Flying, Lawless was panting heavily. Beads of sweat were cascading down, continually dripping from his forehead. His skin was usually pale, but it was especially ghostly white that night. It was an apparent proof of the torment the vampire felt inside.

Even then, he was only thinking about his Eve. Naturally, if Lawless, the Servamp was suffering to this extent, then she who was in contract with him would've been in a more awful shape.

It was only to be expected. Lawless couldn't have dared sucking in so much blood from Ophelia, especially without her consent. Even if it were for a painful journey for the earlier, with the destination lying on the other side of the map. From the wretched country of Ophelia's humble-witted husband whom she loved just as much as another human being to his home, the castle that supposedly broke the treaty and caused him to take the agonizing trip.

"! Ngh!"

As he was fleeing through the night, Lawless felt a stabbing pain on his feet, but he ignored it rather forcefully. There was nothing he could do about it, anyway, except trying not to fall on trees. It felt like an eternity, three hours being away from his Ophelia, and the mere thought of lasting for more hours being further away.

Really, if he could choose, he would never want to be apart from her. It's not because of the physical pain the both of them felt when they're separated, or how she'd probably turn into hedgehog and die, he'd avoid that thank you very much. The reason was none other than because being by Ophelia was his home. His one and only place to be. Then again, beggars can't be choosers. It was his own choice to go away.

But now, it's exactly because Lawless wanted to be together with her, he must flee. Back to the kingdom they were living a happy life in. However said kingdom's betrayal was particularly the reason Ophelia was going to be beheaded, even the thought alone was a horror to him.

Unfortunately Lawless's anger wasn't the only one that was set aflame. His throat felt so parched. The vampire was familiar with the drought inside, he knew that his body was dying for more blood, but he decided that water will suffice. Or not, he never wanted Ophelia to be by his side more than ever but what could be done?

Thus, the short break in the river bank. Lawless rested his long feet and heaved his breaths heavily. He knew, however, that he could only stay for so long. At least it had been halfway, but on the other side of the coin, it had only been halfway. It was almost impossible for the witty Servamp to imagine going forward again. Even if it had gone faster than expected, he couldn't have imagined such devastating pain, a spate amount eating him from the inside.

He staggered when he drank the water, and his hands shivered when he tried to look at his reflection on the water surface. The lighting wasn't impeccable but he looked terrible. And really, Lawless was a narcissist diva. Then the makeshift mirror was disrupted as his leaking sweat was pouring down the lake. As a dignified member of the royal castle he was disgusted with the thought of drinking his own bodily fluid and stopped drinking. The trembling, limp legs of his stood back up and leapt through the night. The unsatisfied mouth voiced with a dry tone.

"... I have to be faster..."

As if reciting those words hold power to actualy enact on it, Lawless renewed his resolve as he reminisced of what happened that he went this far.

That evening, a hedgehog had been eavesdropping on the council's meeting, like it used to do. He'd been able to gain intel and figure many things out of it, after all. It wasn't Ophelia's request per se, no. In fact, if she had caught him, Lawless was sure that he would be punished.
