Epilogue – Twelve years later
Quinn woke up to Elena aggressively jumping on his bed.
"Daaaaddddd, wake up! Today is mother's day, you gotta make breakfast for mom!"
"Okay, okay, I'm up," he sat up and smiled at his daughter,"where's your brother?"
"Grayson's still asleep, he's lazy."
"Aw come on, don't be mean, he's just tired. Now c'mon, let's go make breakfast for your mom!"
He got up, luckily Alex was a heavy sleeper so Elena's jumping didn't wake her up. He picked Elena up and walked to the kitchen. Grayson was sitting on the couch, half asleep, and watching the early 2000's version of Teen Titans.
"Hey Grayson, what do you think I should make your mom for breakfast?"
He just groaned and fell sideways, now laying on the couch. Quinn just laughed and decided to start making pancakes.
It took him almost an hour to cook, and get it on a plate and bring it to Alex, he wasn't the best chef.
"Aleeeeeeeexxxxx, wake uppp! It's mother's day, come on, I got you food, and Grayson made you this card."
She groaned and sat up, her auburn hair sticking out in a million places, yet Quinn still found it beautiful, just like always.
"Ughh, okay. How many pancakes did you burn this time?" She gave him a sassy look.
"Only three this time, surprisingly enough."
"Only three? Wow, that must be a new record!"
She laughed and took the card, and food. They both walked to the living room and sat down with their kids.
Grayson was quick to jump on Quinn's lap, and Elena jumped on Alex's. He looked at Alex, then at Elena, and finally, at Grayson. He looked into his kid's eyes, and then his wife's eyes. Then he remembered, twelve years ago, he was looking out the back of a tour bus at his hometown as his band shipped off on their international tour. And he felt that something beautiful was going to come. He married Alex, adopted a dog, had two kids, got his dream job as an author, and started the life of his dreams. And as he stared into Grayson and Elena's eyes, he knew, this was that beautiful thing that was going to come.
