I packed everything fast as fuck. I threw our bags in the trunk.

I buckled the kids in and drove to the hospital.

I got them out and we hurried in the hospital.

"She's fiiiiine." Ja'la said and I looked at her.

The police came out with an angry Ebony in handcuffs.

I asked for Nequa and the nurse led me to her room along with the kids.

I walked in. "Y'all sit and be quiet." I told them.

"Baby?" I called out to her and she gave me a warm smile.

"Jahlee left us all letters." She said once I approached her.

"He did huh?" I asked and she nodded.

"We talk-

" Y'all talk?"I askes unbelievable.

"I almost died....he came to me and said be strong..but I'm not strong enough Keylon." She said shifting her eyes to the kids.

"Ne-....man you got to stop this for the kids sake we waiting for them to let you go and we doing this." I said referring to moving.

She smiled then nodded holding my hand. Her ring glistered as she intertwined our fingers.

Soon a nurse walked in ruining our moment.

"Okay Mr.Daniel sign this and Mrs.Daniel you'll be free to go." She said and we nodded.

"Be sure to take your prescription." She said handing Nequa some pills and a piece of paper.

Nequa went to get dress and went towards the kids.

I sighed her out and we was about to leave until Ja'la walked up to us.

"Hey Babes." She spoke.

"Hey Jai." Nequa responded.

"So what now?" She asked and I walked away because someone caught my attention

"Hey...how your feeling?" I asked Chelsie.

She was younger than all of us. But she carried herself grown.

"Not good at all." She said lowly. She hands me 2 notes that had me and Nequas name on em.

"From Jahlee?" I asked and she nodded.

"He made a will." She stated.

"You okay?" I asked sitting next to her.

"No... I-I dont know what I'm going to do my parents died when I was young you know.. Jahlee helped me out and I loved him now I'm all alone." She said on the verge of crying.

"I-I have nothing to go back to...when I woke up I was hoping this was all a dream and that my Jahlee was still here waking me up to breakfast in bed." She said wiping falling tears.

"Chelsie come on." I said standing up extending my hand.

"What?" She asked. I gave her a reassuring look and she took my hand.

"We could all use a fresh start why not start together?" I asked and she gave me a small smile.

"Keylon what do you mean?" She asked nervously.

"Your leaving with me and my family because your family." I said and then noticed Jahlee's grandma ring on her finger.

She must've noticed me looking.

"He said he was doing to purpose when I turned 20..." She said looking down toying with the ring.

I didn't know what to say so I just hugged her.

"So what do you say Chels fresh start?" I asked and she thought for a while.

"Yes I need a fresh start." She said and I smiled as we walked over to Nequa and the kids.

We all walk out the hospital but I pulled Nequa back.

"Chelsie is coming with us and please don't-

"Okay." Nequa said and I was confused but let it go.

I kissed her before we rejoined the others.

We all got in the car. "Brace yourselves this is going to be a long ride." Nequa said and I laughed.

Many Miles Later

As we passed over to Illinois Nequa woke up.

"We staying here?" She asked and I nodded.

"Yeah in Springfield." I responded.

She intertwined our finger and leaned back.

"Our journey has seen something else huh?" She asked and I nodded.

"Our folks might be mad we jumped ship like this." I said and she signed.

"We're grown now Keylon we have to do what's best for our family." She said and I nodded in agreement.

"Aye Nequa." I said smiling.

"Yes baby?" She said looking at me.

"We Ride Together." I said and she grinned.

"We Die Together ." She said and I leaned over and kissed her.
