(Y/N) opens their (E/C) eyes to find clean white walls and fancy music being faintly played. They went to an art gallery for a college project about the late Guertena's artwork. They had split up with their classmates to look about the gallery on their own. But, all good things must come to an end, so they feel it's time to leave, yet they'd like to look at all the artwork again one last time before going. (Y/N) is very passionate about art, and the same goes for spooky aesthetics and flair, so Guertena's art was practically their cup of tea. Although some of the artworks were a bit out of place from the rest, they were all magnificent. Right now (Y/N) stands in front of a life-size rose sculpture, painted a vibrant red, named "Embodiment of Spirit."
"Embodiment of Spirit"
"Beautiful at glance, but if you get too close, it will induce pain. It can only bloom in wholesome bodies."
Absolutely mesmerizing. Wonder how much time it took to make it?
Standing next to them was a tall man with lavender hair and a long, tattered coat.
"Amazing, isn't it?"
The sudden need for small talk caught (Y/N) off guard, but they love to talk about art, so they gladly responded.
"Indeed. Guertena really was a prodigy when it came to art. Shame that he's gone now."
He hummed in approval and pointed his head back at the statue, but turned right back around when a little girl tugged gently on the tails of his coat. (Y/N) assumes that they're blocking the view, so they walk to another area of the gallery.
Come to think of it...haven't I seen those two people before?
They turn their head back towards them and sees them talking.
Eh, probably not. Hell, I don't even know their names.
It is starting to get a bit late. The exhibit closes at 7:00, and the sun is already beginning to set. The few visitors are all mainly gone, or leaving. (Y/N) is practically alone in the spacious room with the floor painting. After a final scan of the paintings in the area, (Y/N) checks the time and decides to head home. They're about to walk away when they heard frantic footsteps behind them. They turn their head and see the two people from before, running towards them, crying out their name.
Wh-how do they know my name?
"(Y/N)! (Y/N)!"
The little girl clings onto them, and the tall man with the lavender hair comes up and cups (Y/N)'s cheeks in his hands.
"W-What? How do you know my name?"
"(Y/N)! Are you okay? Do you remember us?"
R-Remember what? Am I okay? What happened? Did I meet these people before?
(Y/N) finally managed to look these people in the face. The little girl looked no older than 10, and she had fair skin with gorgeous, ruby red eyes and straight, brown hair, ending in the middle of her back. She wore a white dress shirt with a red skirt, and a red ribbon to match, very much like a schoolgirl. Then they looked up to the tall man, almost towering over them. He had quite the bizarre yet nice-looking hairdo, curly and lilac, covering one of his eyes, and darker streaks of purple near the roots. His visible eye was a royal blue, which complemented his pale skin very nicely. He wore a long, tattered denim coat styled with a low cut tank top. Now that they dwell on it, (Y/N) feels that they have, in fact, met these two. But they can't quite remember all the details. The man spoke.
"Please...try to remember, (Y/N)...it's us...Ib and Garry.."
Ib and Garry?
Those names seem awful familiar.
W-Wait...
"My dearest apologies, I've seemed to have forgotten your name."
"My name is Ib."
"Pleasure to meet you, Ib. My name is (Y/N)."
•*•*•
"Now, first things first, we'd better find a way out. I think I'll go mad if I stay in this dreadful place for too long...oh, I still haven't asked for your names. How rude of me! W-Well, my name's Garry. And you are?"
"My name's (Y/N), and this here, is Ib. Pleasure to meet you, Garry."
•*•*•
Didn't I...
"They're just fine, Ib. If they've taken good care of you, they can certainly take care of themselves. Until then, I promise you, you will be safe as long as you're with us."
•*•*•
Yes...I did, I made that promise...and I was promised it too...
"Good. Just like you said earlier, you're going to be safe as long as you're with us. I promise, and I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it."
•*•*•
But wait...wasn't there one more in our group?
"Ah, I knew it! Well, would you like to come with us? It's dangerous to be alone here, with all of these strange creatures. I think it's be best if we all stay together."
She agrees with his statement, and thus, a fourth member is in our party. Her name is Mary.
•*•*•
Ah, that's right...she...
"Mary"
"The last work of Guertena's life. While the girl appears almost lifelike, naturally, she is not based on a real person."
•*•*•
"Please!! Stop!!"
We all know that there's no other choice. The wooden frame finally catches fire, and soon after, the whole painting starts to burn up, erupting the last pieces of glass right at us. Mary screams even louder than before, and as the tears pour from her blue eyes, she bursts into flames, and before long, all that remains of her is burnt ashes sitting beneath her pallete knife.

Suddenly everything started to come together. Ib and Garry were getting pretty anxious, with (Y/N) just staring off into space. But all of a sudden, their eyes widen in realization. Ib and Garry hold their breath in anticipation.
"Ib? Garry? D-Did we make it out? Are you all okay?"
And then there was laughter. Laughter filled with joy and relief, even some tears spilled. They both embraced (Y/N) into a big, warm hug. They did it. They escaped the Fabricated World, and they managed to keep their promise to each other. They all promise to meet again, but once Ib's mother comes up and tells her it's time to leave, she leaves (Y/N) and Garry alone with a sweet smile and a wave, eager for reuniting. (Y/N) and Garry face each other, smiling with pure joy.
"Garry, we did it..."
"Yes we did, (Y/N).."
Garry pulls (Y/N) for a tender and loving hug before kissing their soft forehead, like he always does. They then tilt their head up and kiss him properly. They both knew very well that this was only the start to their relationship, but it was a relationship filled with promise; a promise of reunion.1172 words
