Chapter 20

We get home and I fall asleep quickly. Keian kisses my cheek tucking me in and goes to get some food for his dinner. I was to scared to eat knowing I'll just vomit right now. A message pops up from my old boss who helped me in the shop.
"Guessing you don't remember me but I'm the old man who stopped by before you closed. Congrats by the way. Can we have lunch? 5:00 tomorrow town hall. Bring keian."
I cock an eyebrow at the last sentence. Why does he want keian???
I brush it off and tell keian before I fall asleep. He agrees and falls asleep soon after. Morning comes, I wake up at 3:00am to a stomach ache, followed by a vomit session. Keian and I go to the I.G.H. to pick up our fertilization pod. They give bleak instructions, of how to feed and to clean, but... I really wanted to know how it happened... It's a virtual simulator and sex isn't real so how could I (already a bunch of 1's and 2's) create another living being? My mind raced as keian and the doctor talk about sitafects. I couldn't hear them though, my mind being to distracted to care. I quietly stand and leave to the restroom. I cry out in tears, " how is this possible!" I start to get a head ache and my face red with tears. Feeling naucious, I rush to the toilet. A knock comes to the door. " Kitty?" Keian says. "I'm coming in." His soft voice gentle, he walks over to where I'm sitting to puke. He helps me up and pulls me in tight. " It's ok kitty, everything is ok..." He says hugging me, as I cry in his arms. "I'm so confused! I don't know how to handle this!" I say. His hug turns into an embrace and I start to calm down." You are strong, independent, beautiful and loved. I know you can do this...." His words sooth me back to my normal state.
Time comes and we live with the pod to see my old boss. Walking up to the coffee cafe, the old man smiles sweetly. "You look amazing!" He says bringing me in for a gentle hug. I thank him and we sit in a more quiet area. " Keian introduces himself and sits rubbing my back softly. " I know this is weird to just call you up like this, but I have concerns. As your old boss I taught you how to weld and create swords. Last week I went to greet you at your store but your closed sign has been up there for months now kitty." He says. I nod reassuringly not know what to really say. I've been through so much I forgot about the shop. A sharp pain comes to my side... The baby... I push it off trying to stay on subject. "I know your busy and it's hard now with a baby on the way. But the stock market is rising, the less time you spend at your shop improving your skills, the less customers for everyone on that block with shops. Im asking alot from you and I know that. That is why I have a proposition for you kitty." His eyes soften as I agree to hear him out. I rub my stomach slowly, trying to ease the pain. " My neice, Lisa is 16 and needs a job desperately. Although I could train myself. My body is becoming weak and will not stay in this game or life for long. Im begging you please take her in until she's able to live alone." He says coughing. Both keian and my eyes widen. Did he just ask me to adopt his neice?!?! We sit scilent. Keian looking over to me and then my stomach. "I don't know sir, it's just alot right now." Keian says grabbing my hand. I look up at him then glance at the sad expression on the man's face. "Wait! It's my decision he's asking me, to take her in as an apprentice and to sleep over just until she can live on her own. It's no problem sir. Yes." I say without knowing keians feelings on the matter. We all stand and he shakes both our hands. We agree she'll start next week after I get a check up at I.G.H.
