jaeden and i have been best friends since literally the time i was born. our parents went to high school together and our moms were best friends.
it's kinda cliché, in a way; i mean the whole fall-in-love-with-your-best-friend thing, it happened almost all the time.
each cheesy love movie, the classic romance novels, etc. and it just happened to happen to me.
i haven't told anyone except my mom. she claims that it's obvious and she already knew but then why didn't any of my friends see it?
maddie ziegler was my close friend after jaeden filmed the book of henry with her and she invited me to the mall. we'd usually go with lilia or something but she didn't come this time.
we go to the food court to get food (why else would you be in the food court) and i ordered my food. we sat down and ate before maddie spoke up.
"hey y/n?" uh oh. that didn't exactly sound to reassuring.
"mhm?" i replied in between my bites.
"would you be alright if i set lilia and jaeden up?" she asked me. my breath hitches and i swear my heart stopped.
i didn't know what to say, i mean i'm in love with him and it would kill me to see two of my friends dating. but of course in a relatio- friendship, the other person's happiness comes first.
"s-sure," i tried to say with my voice as steady as possible which was hard because i was on the verge of breaking into tears.
instead i just drink more of my iced tea and try to forget about what maddie had say.
"great, they just seem like they'd make a cute couple and i think it would be a match made in heaven." she went on and all i felt like doing was vomiting. as mean as it sounds.
after going to two more stores i literally felt like throwing up. "mads, i feel really sick..." i tell her. concern washes over her face.
"alright let's get you home"

once maddie dropped me off at home i ran to the washroom and threw up. my mom rushed into the room and rubbed my back. "y/n, hun, what's wrong?" mom asked.
"it's maddie, she-she's setting lilia and jaeden up," i tell her in between sobs. she hugs me as i only cry harder.
i cuddle up in my bed and decide to watch the depressing episodes of gilmore girls just to get the tears out.
i hear my phone ring on my bedside table and pick it up. it was jaeden's icon and i sigh, trying to catch my breath.
"y/n, please help!" jaeden exclaims through the phone. "maddie wants to set me and lilia up and i said okay!" he says, as i wipe my damp cheeks from the tears.
