Charlene's POV:
"Lift your chin, please, Princess," a makeup artist commanded. Sourly, as usual now, I complied. The woman started attacking my face a makeup brush and several others joined in. Quietly, the head makeup artist said to her helpers, "Something's just not right."
"She's a sourpuss, that's what," one responded, acting as if I could not hear.
"Call me a sourpuss again and I'll call someone to bring me your head," I snapped. The woman who insulted me turned a very pale shade of white, curtsied, and scurried out of the room. The rest of the women just looked at me in horror, "Now," I pursed my lips, "Are we done here?"
"Just one more thing, Princess," a woman said, looking somewhat frightened. I wish I could feel bad. More than anything ever before.
About twenty minutes later, I was hastily escorted to the podium in the middle of the room, where about fifty people would fuss with my dress. It was a beautiful pink and white ombre, floor length, ballgown with a flared skirt. It trailed behind me, leaving small diamonds on it's trail that matched the other diamonds embroidered on my dress. I was wearing the prettiest dress in all of history. Or, the history of the realm I was currently living in.
This was it. My hair was done. My dress was done. My makeup was done. It was time for my coronation. The happiest day of my life.
And I was absolutely miserable.
"Your highness?" a handsome young soldier, about my age, offered me his arm to walk me to the ballroom into the view of all of my kingdom's members. How did I know that all had come? It was an order.
With an extremely forced smile, I nestled my hand in the crook of his elbow. Unexpectedly, I was hit with slew of memories, a featured one imparticular.
"No!" I shrieked, my mind whirring.
"Charlene," Finn pleaded, looking up from his passionate kiss with Amanda. We were about fourteen at the time.
"No," I whispered, becoming light headed, "Please."
Amanda glared at me before locking lips with Finn once again. Tears tumbled down my face. I turned on my heel and sprinted away as quickly as I could, unable to watch the scene unfold any longer. When I finally tired, I found myself in -
The memory was sharply cut off. I flicked open my eyes and stared at the man I now knew as Finn, who was still trapped in a memory, looking strained. Slowly, I began to remember the rest of the memory, though I was not in the trance I normally was. After I ran away, I hid away in the ice cream parlor on Main Street, in the Magic Kingdom. Finn appeared in the doorway minutes after I arrived, out of breath and panting.
"Charlene," he reached my table, "You knew about-"
I cut him off with a hard slap across the face, "Yeah, I knew," I grew angry, "But what possessed you to do it in front of me?"
I stomped off before letting him answer.
"Wow," I whispered, back to the present. Finn's eyes flashed open the second I said it. He just started at me for a minute. He said to me, softly, "I remember you. I remember being a Disney DHI. I remember it all. But I have one question, who's the Amanda chick?"
"I don't know," I shook my head gently, using the majority of my energy to keep my tears from showing, "And, from that image, I'm okay with it."
A footman popped his head out into the hallway from the chapel, where my coronation would take place, "Your Highness?"
