<So basically I was in English class and we were doing a project about a poem called cousin Kate, and I was
         I N S P I R E D
So that's what this chapter is somewhat based off (I also didn't know what to call this chapter so I just called it that) [THIS IS AN ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE, THIS IS NOT FACTUALLY CORRECT]>

<Cousin Kate is a poem about a peasant virgin pretty woman who caught the attention of a noble man who she then went on to have intimate relationships with, she got pregnant, but the greedy nobleman fell in love with her pure virgin cousin, Kate. The nobleman and Kate got married, even though Kate didn't truly love the nobleman like the woman did (Kate only wanted his riches), and the woman was then an out cast for having a child out of wedlock. However, karma later gets Kate back for being selfish and taking her cousins true love because Kate cannot get pregnant, however the woman has a son, which is related to the nobleman, making her son the only heir to this mans riches>

[this is in Heine's mothers POV for the most part]

I was a cottage maiden,
Hardened by sun and air,
Contented with my cottage-mates,
Not mindful I was fair.
Why did a great Lord find me out
And praise my flaxen hair?
Why did a great Lord find me out
To fill my heart with care?

The sun beamed on to my golden locks as I worked among the fields of rye. The sound of a carriage coming towards us from a distance caught my cottage-mates attention. I looked up to see a nobleman with the most handsome red hair, and lovely red eyes. He looked at my friends as though they were peasants, but glanced at me, and saw my beautiful flaxen hair.

'You. What amazing hair you have. I'll be talking to you again.' He called to me.
I bowed to him, and continued, only thinking of the handsome young man I saw.

He lured me to his palace-home -,
Woe's me for joy thereof -,
To lead a shameless shameful life,
His plaything and his love,
He wore me like a golden knot,
Changed me like a glove,
So now I moan an unclean thing,
Who might have been a dove.

He came again, and grabbed my hand, lifting me up from the dirt. He pulled me into his carriage, and off we traveled to his palace home. He bathed me, clothed me, fed me all for one thing. My virginity. I was his beautiful plaything, moaning unclean things. I could have been as pure as a dove, if he had not lured me into his trap.

O Lady Kate, my cousin Kate,
You grow more fair than I:
He saw you at your father's gate,
Chose you and cast me by.
He watched your steps among the lane,
Your sport among the rye,
He lifted you from mean estate,
To live with him on high.

I waved goodbye to my love, watched him ride away. He'd be gone for a day or so on business.
Little did I know, he'd see my cousin, Kate, see how beautiful she was, and change his mind. He kicked me out, put her in my place, and left me and my unborn child. He did not know.

Because you were so good and pure,
He bound you with his ring:
The neighbours call you good and pure,
Call me an outcast thing,
Even so I sit in howl and dust,
You sit in gold and sing,
Now which of us had tenderer heart?
You had the stronger wing.

His wedding was to be soon, my heart was shattered more than glass after being crushed. And so I sat in the dust, back to my peasant life, with my unborn baby. Meanwhile my, once peasant, cousin was enjoying the lush life with my only love, who she stole selfishly. She would sit in gold, wear fine clothes, and have at least three banquets a day, and would often socialise with the neighbours, giggling at the rude things they say about me, the outcast.

O cousin Kate, my love was true,
Your love was writ in sand:
If he had fooled not me, but you,
If you stood where I stand,
He had not won me with his love,
Nor bought me with his land,
I would have spit into his face,
And not have taken his hand.

Kate did not love him, it was all pretend. It was simple, she wanted a better life, at the cost of her own cousins love. I wish I hadn't loved him, it would save me from this trouble, but then again, I wouldn't have my baby if it wasn't for him.

Yet I've a gift that you have not got,
And seem not like to get:
For all your clothes and wedding ring,
I've little doubt you fret.
My fair-haired (not really, in this case) son, my shame, my pride,
Cling closer, closer yet,
Your sire would give broad lands for one to wear his coronet.

Heine. That's his name, my child, my shame but my pride. I looked at his cherry hair and red eyes. Just like his father, spitting image, in fact. Small, and cute. I stroked his hair as he slept, using my knees as a pillow. There is no doubt he will be the future heir to his fathers lands and riches.

I finally got my way back...

IN THE FUTURE
Heine's POV

Next week it will happen, my official day of taking over my fathers land. I smiled as I walked down the halls, servants bowing to me along the way. I reached the main hall, looked at my father and glared at my stepmother, Kate, who technically is my cousin.
My father smiled at me, his only heir.
I thought he was selfish, the only one important in my family is my mother.

'Heine, lovely to see you.'

'Father, who gave you permission to use my name given to me by precious Mother .'

He looked guilty, but changed the topic.

'As agreed by your mother and I, you shall receive my riches and land, the day you become of age. Next week.'

'Father, I am fully aware of this. And when that moment comes, I want you and her to leave.'

'B-but son! I'm your fath-'

'My father that abandoned me and my mother until you found out that your wife couldn't have children and suddenly wanted me to be the heir to your stuff. Please, excuse yourself. I'm sick and tired of people like you and your wife.'

And with my final statement, I left the hall and began walking back to my chambers, until I bumped into someone.
A servant.
A girl.
She was beautiful, with lovely (hair colour) hair and the most lovely eyes I've ever seen in my life time. A blush spread to my face.

Little did I know she'd be my wife in the future.
