~Ethan~
My heart is still attempting to pry its way out of my rib cage when we break apart. I swear she just smelled me and sighed happily. I've never liked her competitive nature because she always rubbed it in when she won and I lost.
"Ha-ha. I win. You lose," Mel taunted me.
"Best two out of three," I demanded.
Bianca rolled her eyes as she stood on the side of the high school track. "You guys are ridiculous! I've seen you two race out here every day this week. Just get over it, Ethan. Melanie is a faster sprinter than you."
"It's only cause she's taller than me, so she has longer legs!"
"Well, then ask for a growth spurt this Christmas," Mel said with her hand on her hip.
My eyes swiftly looked at her hips, then back to her face. I growled in frustration and stomped away from the sound of Mel and Bianca's laughter.
I look at her as she watches Bianca aim to take her shot. Now, her competitive nature has allowed me to be closer to her because her doofus of a boyfriend sucks. Can't she see they're not compatible? She needs someone with just as much of a competitive nature as her.
I cannot figure you out, Mel. You're a creature like no other. I shake my head as Bianca sinks the ball in.
This is going to be one game I'm not sure either of us will win, Mel. I sigh as my turn arrives, and I aim with the cue stick.
