After Naruto left the others and slid his way from the nose of the Second Hokage, he found himself clinging for his life. Hands tightly grasping the nose and his feet dangling, Naruto's first instinct was to let go- knowing that he would land fine- but he held on, knowing too that doing so would jeopardise their group and put them all at risk. After another second, he pulled himself up concentrating chakra to his feet and pushed off from the nose just before his hands slipped off. Naruto flew backwards away from the Hokage faces, only realizing that he used to much chakra after seeing that he was still over the ground after five street had passed. "Oh boy" finally feeling gravity pulling him down to the ground "Bad, bad, bad" he muttered under his breath as he tumbled in the air.
He closed his eyes, unable to land safely in his current state. Then, he stopped. His feet didnt touch the ground but he had stopped falling. Naruto opened his eyes, only to be greeted by the view of the village from one of the rooftops. He turned around slowly, realising what had happened. He was met by the face of an angry, very angry Iruka. "Naruto.."
"Ah, hey there Iruka sensei. N-Nice..to..see..you" he said, saying the last part in between breaths as he struggled to get out of Iruka's grasp. "Oh no you don't. You're coming back with me" easily dragging the boy across the rooftops, heading towards the academy.
After hearing Kiba's shout, Shikamaru ran for what he deemed, the safest place to be. The Nara compound. Reaching there, and making sure that none of his clansmen had seen him, the Nara reached his destination. It was one of his favourite place, specially on a cloudy day like this. He was on the bench and looked up to the sky. It was one of the perfect spots to go on cloud watching. It was quiet, the bench was comfortable to sleep on, there was a rooftop to shield him from the sun, and it gave him the perfect view of the clouds.
After a while, the Nara heir drifted off to sleep, dreaming about his perfect life. The one with perfect marriage, and an average non troublesome shinobi life.
"If any of you know where Nara Shikamaru is tell me now and it would save you from a serious punishment" Iruka, who had finally found the other two and had dragged them back to school was now facing a problem. Nara Shikamaru was still not found. "But sensei! How are we suppose to know" replied the Inuzuka, who, as much as he hates to admit, was beginning to miss his mother's food as the day wore on, having missed lunch. "Yeah dog boy's right, we told you, we splitted up!" Agreed Naruto, who already reaching in his pocket for his Ichiraku Ramen coupon.
"What was that orange boy"
"Oh you heard me. Dog breath!"
"Oh I'm gonna pummel you! Akamaru!"
"Huh" Naruto said, getting up from his seat "Can't do anything without Akamaru, eh Kiba?" Iruka barely had time to facepalm, as he reached the two, standing between them to block any attack.
Choji sat away from the other, looking out the window, aiming to catch a glimpse of his favourite barbecue shop amd thinking what his lazy bestfriend was doing.
Shikamaru was still asleep when his mother woke him up with a shove, causing him to fall off the bench and lying with his face flat on the floor, "Troublesome" he mumbled as pushed himself up "What was that!" cried his mother as she dragged him by his collar, back to their house. "I can walk you know" though not trying anything as he knew it would be too much work, with little results. Except maybe to anger the woman further.
