Your heart was pounding in your ears, your breath quickening by the minute. You had woken up in bed from a horrid nightmare, a nightmare of blood and laughter with a dash of your name being called a thousand times. Called like you were needed by the very person who said your name. You were awoken by your parents fighting and this only time you were glad of it.
You stretched while letting out a short yawn, rubbing at your face as if you could wipe the tiredness out of you somehow. You got up and walked over to the bathroom, doing your business and stepping back into your shaggy, carpeted room. You sighed, obviously not wanting to go back to bed, especially after that weird nightmare or dream you had minutes ago.
As you were laying in bed and thinking of your decisions on sleep or not, you heard a clicking noise. The noise came from your window, it was quiet now downstairs, and all there was to head was the sound of shuffling and movement.
Coming from your window.
You acted as if you were asleep, thinking it was still a dream or someone was breaking in to steal your stuff. You were ready to just jump this person, but you decided to take a peek of this intruder. You quickly shut them closed, only catching a glimpse of their features, so you didn't know who this was.
From what you saw, you could tell they had curves for sure, and a pink shirt you think, but for sure did you catch the eyes. Purple, bright- like eyes, ones that can pierce you with easily to make you weak in the legs, but not the good way.
Faint footsteps were heard walking along your carpeted floor, slow and steady, but eager and ready. A cold, dainty hand was placed on your cheek gently, the thumb rubbing it ever so slightly. It was so light on your face you questioned if someone was even touching your face. That hand slowly moved from your face, and you could hear footsteps walk away from you to another place in your room.
You opened your eyes barely a little, but enough for you to see this culprit. Only you saw them going through your drawer, and take a piece of clothing out. That article of clothing being a shirt. You heard a noise, the sound being the noise of someone taking a big whiff of a smell.
They were smelling your shirt.
Hey, at least it's not your underwear.
You cringe slightly, and decided to move around thinking it would make them go away, so you did. And boy were you wrong, because as soon as you moved onto your side that intruder zoomed right by your side. You could hear a breath, faint but heavy.
And then, you woke up.
You fell asleep as soon as they came near you, because you a tired bitch and need sleep, I do too but I choose not to so eh.
After getting your daily routine done, you headed downstairs only to be greeted by a crying mother. That mother being yours. She was hunched over, her face buried in her hands, weeping like no tomorrow. You looked at her surroundings and saw no evidence of her being drunk or any smoking near. You walked over and gave her a genuine hug, one that shows you care.
She slowly got up and pushed you slightly away, giving you a smile.
"Thank you baby...I'm sorry I wasn't good enough to take care of you.."
You were confused what she meant by that and was about to ask what she meant, but she was already walking away into her room to cry some more. Your dad hasn't been at the house for a few days, probably moved out already or something and it was affecting your mom in a way you thought wouldn't happen. You sighed in defeat and perked up hearing the doorbell ring.
You walked towards it, turning the knob when you got there, opening it only to meet with Claire. Her hair in a messy bun, she was wearing a short leather jacket and a white tank top underneath. Her skinny jeans and boots complimented the outfit just noice.
"Hey, yo buddy! Eyes up here."
You obediently looked up at her face, apologizing a bit before blushing a bouquet of roses.
"Its fine (Y/N), now the reason I came over here was to ask if you wanted to go out?"
You ,dumbfounded by the question, nod in agreement on this absentmindedly, as if someone was making you-
Hey! No! I just fixed this damn fucking wall and I'm trying not to run into collapsing ones of it so stop!
Okay then....
Anyway, you let her in and walk up to your room to get ready, and all that shindiz. So you two can go on this snazzy date. And it'll be totally tubular and super gnarly bro.
Am I one with the cool kids yet, my dude?
After you got ready, you made your way back downstairs, but upon arriving to the second to last step of the stairs you could see Claire. She was looking at some stuff, touching and smiling, and even looking through them. Some of the stuff she was going through was very personal stuff for your family and she wasn't at that level of friendship yet, I mean sure you two were going on dates and stuff but you guys weren't dating...right?
You cleared your throat, making Claire jump a little from where she stood, and you smiled.
"Ready to go?"
You were the one to ask this, even though it didn't make sense, seeing Claire was waiting for you to be ready and not you waiting for her. But Claire nodded anyway at your question and continued to walk, but this time to the front door. You unlocked and opened the door, letting Claire through first and then yourself, locking the door with your House key. As you neared her car, a certain curly, blonde haired girl skipped up to your house. You saw this and knew it was Catherine. You quickly got in the car, hiding your face and body from the window. You might've gone on that date with Catherine, but you still weren't in the comfortable position to be near her still.
Claire saw what you meant and quickly drove off away from your house, Catherine's figure slowly fading away into the distance. You sat back up and buckled in.
Remember kids, no matter what, safety first. No matter the situation. ;)
Ahem, um, anyway, Claire gave you a slight glance of worry and quickly pat your back in a friendly way. Then she turned back to the road, keeping her eyes on it. When you got to the diner, sat down at the usual booth you two sat in, and ordered food, you saw that Claire seemed....worried? Nervous? Whatever it was she seemed uneven with something.
You broke the obvious awkward silence between the two of you, not wanting it drag on any longer.
"Hey Claire..? You okay? You seem...disturbed.. Is it me?"
Claire popped her head up, blushing a deep red that would put cherries to shame.
"No...N-No!! No!! It's not you it's well...I've just been thinking..."
She became more nervous with her actions, rubbing the back of her neck, stumbling her sentence, not looking straight at you. You know, usual stuff. Claire finally took a deep breath and looked at you.
"I want to be your girlfriend."
You sat there, stunned- no, astonished. You couldn't even make any sentences together that would answer her. You do want to date her, of course, and yeah you were still hung up on Lillie, but you knew you had to move on.
You took a breath as well, and blushed pink, staring straight at Claire with the most determined look on your face.
"I would love for you to be my girlfriend, Claire!!"
You covered your mouth, embarrassed how you got loud and childish sounding like that. But Claire didn't seem to notice, she was to busy smiling and staring at you.
You two continued on with your date, and enjoyed the others company. But what you didn't know..
Was that a certain blonde, curly haired girl..
Was staring straight at you.
"You've done it now Claire."
