Eowny Ivey once said: We never know what's going to happen, do we? Life is always throwing us this way and that. That's where the adventure is. Not knowing where you'll end up or where you'll fare. It's all a mystery, and when we say any different, we're just lying to ourselves. Tell me, when have you felt most alive?
"When have I felt most alive?" Anastasia asked herself.
She tapped the pen against her notebook repeatedly, gaining looks from other peers. It didn't bother her much. It was a habit she had picked up somehow somewhere which she really only did when she was deep in thought.
Her assignment was simple, ponder the quote and answer the question. She was to think of a time in her life that really got her heart beating and her palms damp. A time in her life when she thought nothing could ruin that moment, absolutely nothing.
A few things came to mind, but she quickly brushed them off and realized they weren't spontaneous enough to write about.
She continued to tap her pen and think until she was snapped out of her daze by a cap eraser hitting her square in the back of the head. She snapped her head around only to face a boy.
Baby blue eyes and angelic face. Innocence seemed to seep out of his pores. You know what they say, never judge a book by its cover.
The said boy is really just a foul mouth, he houses a really horrible sense of humor (and when I say horrible I mean horrible), and not to mention he's incredibly horny an incredible amount of the time. That boy was named Chase.
He stared back at Anastasia, a smirk playing on his lips. She rolled her eyes and turned back around, only to be hit again by yet another cap eraser.
"What?," Anastasia asked as she still sat looking down at her assignment.
"I just wanted to say hi," Chase had replied. You could practically hear the yearning in his voice to get under Ana's skin.
"Well shut up, Chase," She told him through her smile.
That's when it hit her. Like in the cartoons, when the character gets an idea, a lightbulb appears overhead.
Ana had realized that the time she felt most alive was when she was with Chase.
It seems confusing, Anastasia and Chase have had a unique relationship, so I guess you could say it was in a way confusing.
Now that she had her muse, all she needed was to know where to start. The beginning? The middle? The end?
She huffed and thought back to a specific time with Chase. Calm, an innocent conversation between two friends, fun and enjoyable. The honeymoon phase in a relationship is what it would be labeled, except without the relationship.
She began to recollect the very first time they had messaged and wrote it down on her rough copy paper. Adding vocabulary to express the emojis and make it seem suitable for an English assignment. Maybe this won't be so hard, right?
