November 14, 2017; 5:40 am

It was a usual morning. I woke up at around 5:40 a.m. like usual, rolled over saw the time and rushed to get ready so I could get my phone to talk to my girlfriend, Lily. I threw on some clothes and got my phone. "Good morning" I sent to her. I waited and waited, and waited some more.

Clock read "6:18." It was time to go to my bus stop. I throw on my backpack and jump into my shoes and go to my bus stop two blocks down the street. I take out my phone and expect to see a notification from Lily on Instagram, but instead ... nothing. Blank screen other than the time of 6:28 on the screen.

I sigh as I walk onto the bus again. I was starting to worry so I got out my phone again as I sat down, opened Instagram and.... I was left on read. "Great" I thought to myself, "I hate when this happens to me." So, I start to send things over and over such as, "Baby" and "Babe?" and "Are you okay??"

Eventually, she replied. "Please stop. I need some time."

"Why? What's wrong" I said.

"It's.. it's just..." Lily replied.

"What, what is it baby?" I ask.

"It's just that you stole my first kiss, you held hands when I didn't want to. You went too fast Gavin. You knew I didn't want to do those things and I thought you understood, you should've just left me earlier..." Lily fired at me.

"I.. I'm sorry babe" I told her.

"I'm sorry... I just think it's better if we're just friends..." Lily said.

"Oh.. ok..." I said. I never talked to her after that.

The school day went on, everything as normal, just not with Lily. I was pretty sad that day. I walked around the school, hands empty, arms empty... heart empty. I tried to hide my sadness and brokenness from the rest of the world, and I think I did a good job at that because no one seemed to say anything to me.

After school I had band rehearsal, because it was a Tuesday. It was pretty fun to be honest. It cheered me up quite a bit. I forgot all the pain I had acquired that morning and moved on, because I had my friends, and that's what made me happy. Little did I know, my day was going to get a whole lot better...
