Tragic Race Day

You were sitting inside the stables, thinking over and over again about if you could win...you remember that your boyfriend, Jimin was sitting in the crowd...which that made you smile...

You then saw the Groom getting out your horse, Ruffian...a beautiful filly who was born to race...you saw she was already tacked up and you walked up to Ruffian and led her out to the mounting area...

Once on Ruffian's back, a rider came and lead Ruffian to the betting area, once you arrived people started looking at you and Ruffian, think on if you'll come first or second...

Then right behind you came the colt Ruffian was going against...Foolish Pleasure, a bay colored gelding walked as well...it was about 50% for both horses...but mostly Ruffian had most bets...

The person who lead you around the betting area took you to the starting gates...once you arrived, a person inside above you helped get Ruffian in line, while the same happened to Foolish Pleasure...

You looked up to the starter and waited for the gates to be opened...then suddenly...

The gates opened and Foolish Pleasure and Ruffian took off, Ruffian hit her shoulder a bit before getting back in line...so far Foolish pleasure was ahead for a little while..

Then suddenly Ruffian slowly started catching up to Foolish Pleasure...you whipped her a couple of times, and she eventually got up in the lead...

And for a little while she was ahead...but suddenly there was a snap that was audible through the course...she whinnied and you slowed her down and got off quickly, trying to support her shoulder...you had realized she had possibly taken a bad step while running...

~Jimin's POV~

I was watching Y/N run on the course, she was behind for a little while but she eventually caught up and got ahead of her rival...then something awful happened...

Ruffian Broke down...

"NO!" I yelled and ran out to the course...

"Hang on there's still a horse running..." A guard said...

I found a way around and got there safely after Foolish Pleasure passed...I saw Y/n walking off the track and saw the veterinarian taking care of Ruffian...

~Author's POV~

You saw Jimin and ran up to him and he hugged you tight...

"Oh Jimin..." You whispered to him...

He took off your helmet and goggles and kissed your forehead...

"Shh...it's okay..." He tried to calm you down...

"N-no it's not, it's my fault that we lost the race, and now Foolish Pleasure won...I feel so stupid..." You said with tears flowing down your face...

He hugged you tighter and lead you back to the stables so you could calm down...

You got a call from your manager that Ruffian broke her sesamoid bone in her right front leg, which she had a hairline fracture on the same leg before but healed fine...

You told him okay and hung up and broke down again...

"What happened?" Jimin was curious...

"Ruffian broke the sesamoid bone in her right front leg, where she had that hairline fracture..." You explained to him...

"She's gonna need surgery, isn't she?" He asked...

You nodded and held your head in you hands as Jimin comforted you...

~Several hours later...~

You got a call saying that Ruffian go out of surgery and is coming out of anesthesia...and she's resting well...which you were relieved...

But what you don't see, is that Ruffian started getting restless, like she was still running the race...she banged her cast against the wall, and broke her elbow into pieces, and the cast slipped and her suture ruptured...

Suddenly you got a call and got the whole story...and you said with tears rolling down your face...

"I don't want her to suffer any longer...put her down..." You then broke down after saying that...

Your manager hung up and you set the phone down and cried even harder...

Once you calmed down, Jimin asked what happened and you explained everything...

"I didn't want her to suffer anymore...it would kill me to see her like that..." You finished and he pulled you closed...

He felt extremely bad for you, and he took you home and let you rest, as he showered you with kisses, making you giggle to make you happier...and it did...

Ever since you've stopped racing...until one day you decided to train again...and you loved it, it gave you passion on what you love a lot...

And Jimin enjoyed seeing you train, race and care for the horses you've trained...

~If you guy's didn't know, Ruffian was an actual racehorse, and had a movie based off her story...she was only 3 when she died and was an amazing filly...too bad she isn't here today...but holy crap guys...this is the 60th chapter on this book!! I'm so happy that I've made it this far into the book...ChimChim's Calico Cats, I hoped you enjoyed this chapter...and sorry if it was really bad...I tried...but anyways, bye!!~
