Two days later and it was time for me to go back to work on Monday. It was an unappealing job at the diner by the corner store, buisness being as dry as usual.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That explains me being the only waitress working 11 to 7.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It wasn't until one in the afternoon that a way-too familiar face came in, his hood up with hands stuck into the front pocket.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Jungkook?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I smiled, my brows furrowing as I place my hands on the counter with a lazy stance. "You never come in here."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He just nodded simply, sliding some cash across the counter. "My mom wanted an orange cream float. May I?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I scoffed, taking his money but keeping my lips upturned. "Not even a hello? Mm, you're losing brownie points."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Jungkook's relaxed facial expression suddenly turns back into his wide eyed gaze, his eyes flickering from me to the money. "...hi, Benji."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I stood in a moment of silence before chuckling. "It's a joke, I'll be right back, alright?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After giving him his change I go in front of the kitchen to make the ice cream float. There was an obvious feeling I was being watched by him, but it amused me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It still puzzled me as to why Jungkook kept such a quiet demeanor, but I have to remind myself that not everyone is as foreward as me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Here, bub," I sat the to-go cup of the ice cream drink in front of him, his gaze not leaving mine. "Enjoy."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Thanks, Benji," he dropped some loose change into the tip jar, and it was then I noticed the small flush in his cheeks.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
His whole personna seemed so different than Saturday, treating me as if I was only a stranger. Technically speaking, I was.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Still, Saturday, my intentions was to make him more comfortable with me, not the opposite.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was then that I wondered if I had taken it too far.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When he left, I saw him outside bring the straw to his lips of the drink that was supposed to be for his mom.

⠀It was ten o'clock at night and I couldn't find myself being able to sleep. Mom and Dad were downstairs watching late night TV as I stayed tucked away in my room, watching the small glow-in-the dark stars in my room that had been stuck on when I was three.
⠀It sucked.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Being a Monday night, I knew all of my friends, which made up most of the town's youth, would be studying for any college classes they were taking.
⠀
Maybe I should've enrolled into uni last fall.
⠀With a groan, I rolled over in my bed, now staring at the wall, the window right in the middle of it. It left a clear view of outside, the stars shining brighter than the ones stuck on my ceiling. All there was were empty fields, besides one lone house that sat in the midst of it all.
The house was quite a bit away from mine, and honestly I had never visited it to see who was in there.
⠀I cursed my curious mind as I began to wonder what the household could've held, but it was interupted when I saw something that could easily just be my mind playing tricks.
⠀A body, what appeared to be at least, escaping the window on the second floor.
⠀
⠀
I squinted my eyes as the small object began to move. This was then I swung myself out of bed, tiptoeing over to the window and opening it.
I couldn't make out who it was, it being so far away, but it was definitely someone making an escape. They used the tree by the window to shimmy down onto the ground.
⠀Don't do it, Benji.
⠀Ah, screw it.
⠀I didn't give my mind time to argue with itself as I brought my legs out to sit on the windowsill, thankful that our property too had a tree by the secondfloor window. It wasn't my first time using it to leave my house.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I dropped down from branch to branch, until eventually, my feet hit the ground.
⠀Luckily, the air outside only had a small chill, but it felt nice compared to the heat that was radiated inside my room.
⠀I began to walk towards the figure, who was now making their way to the line of woods that was a good bit behind our houses.
⠀
⠀Living in the country had its props. Since the woods was shared by all in the neighborhood, it was fun to plan gatherings in bonfires in their as well when we wanted to change up being in the
⠀
⠀It was then me and the stranger began to meet in the middle.
⠀As I got closer, I discovered this wasn't no stranger.
"Jungkook?"
