When school rolled around a few weeks ago Lyric had focused on school, basketball and the job Dre' got her at Aftermath records.
"Wright!" Lyric dribbled the ball then tried to find someone who was open. She ran and passed the ball to Marisol.
She caught it and tried to shoot when one of the juniors jumped up and smacked the ball and grabbed it she ran down the court and dunked the ball.
Marisol balled her fists up and Lyric shook her head. "Come on." She squeezed her shoulder and they got into place. "Good job Zara!" Coach Lee yelled clapping her hands.
Zara smirked and took her spot a couple inches away from Lyric. Lyric watched her closily as Zara watched Lyric. Zara had long black hair and caramel skin.
Lyric looked away but still had her eye on her. She wasn't about to let her clown her.
After practice the girls took a shower and O'shea waited for her by the bleachers. "Hey." He smiled and kissed Lyric's lips. "How was practice?"
He asked throwing his arm around her neck. "It was okay." She mumbled. He nodded. "Oh." He cleared his throat when Marisol walked up to them.
"Hey, you ready?" She asked. Lyric frowned. "Oh yea." O'shea looked at her. "I'm studying with Marisol." He nodded slowly. "How long?" "Just for a couple hours."
O'shea nodded. He was a little disappointed because they barely see eachother anymore and he had prepared dinner for them tonight for their eight months. "Call me so I can pick you up."
"Marisol will but thanks." Lyric kissed his cheek and they walked away together. "So how have y'all been?" She asked as they walked to the library.
"Um, we're good.. why?" Lyric asked. "You don't seem like yourself lately, I thought something was wrong with you two." Lyric shook her head.
"Nope, we're fine." "Sure?" Marisol raised a brow. "Yea." "Okay then."
Meanwhile, "Damn you got candles lit and shit." Austin said looking around the living room and kitchen. O'shea shrugged and sat on the couch grabbing his controller.
"Doesn't even matter, Lyric probably won't be home in time anyway." Austin sat next to him and kicked his shoes off. "...You saw Marisol today?"
He asked. O'shea sucked his teeth. "Yea." "She say anything about me?" He asked. At first he wasn't fucking with her like that until he realized he really liked her.
"Nah." O'shea popped some m&m's in his mouth. "Really? Nothing?" "Nothing." He scoffed. "Why? She ain't taking you back right?" O'shea asked.
Austin mugged him. "Why you say it like that?" He asked. "Cause she would be dumb and I'm sure she isn't dumb enough to take you back."
"For your information we hooked up last week." "And how is that going for you?" O'shea asked doing his ultimate jutsu on his Naruto Storm 4 game.
"Man whatever, we hooked up so we obviously still like eachother." "Or she just wanted to fuck..been there." Austin frowned.
"You cheated on Lyric?" He asked. O'shea furrowed his eyebrows. "Hell no, fuck I gotta cheat on her for?" Austin nodded. "True, you would be dumb as hell..she is fine."
O'shea glared at him. "You finna get the hell out." Austin laughed. "I'm just playing, but what you mean by that?" He asked.
"Lyric and I started having sex first before we got into a relationship." Austin's mouth opened. "Nuh uh." O'shea didn't say anything.
"So when I said that you couldn't have her..you already have." O'shea nodded. "Damnnn, so you was fucking her behind Maceon's back?" "Don't say it like that."
"It's only one way to say it." Austin laughed. "Whatever she forgot y'all anniversary anyway." O'shea was silent. "But you probably right, she just wants to smash.. unless you ask Lyric if Marisol wants ya boy."
O'shea looked at him then sucked his teeth and shook his head. "Nope, not my buisness and don't get my girl in y'all shit either." "Well your girl is also one of my friends so I can ask her."
O'shea rolled his eyes. "Plus Marisol probably already told her everything, ion think it matters." O'shea looked at the time. "You should go, she should be here any-"
The door opened and Lyric appeared with her phone in hand. She looked at the boys then locked the door. "Hey baby." "What's up Lyric."
"Hey." She said plainly. Austin frowned and O'shea shook his head. "You good?" Austin asked. "Yea I'm just hungry." She looked around at all the candles and raised a brow.
"Imma go, basketball court tomorrow right?" O'shea nodded. "Cool." He gave O'shea some dap then left. "What's all this?" She asked.
"I wanted to surprise you." He paused his game then got up and took the lasagna out of the oven. "That smells good." Lyric smiled a little and O'shea smiled when he saw her smile.
"I missed that smile." Lyric looked down and sighed. "I have cramps, you know how I get on my period." "Yea, you came early this month too."
"Yea." Lyric mumbled. O'shea made their plate and Lyric instantly dug in. "You cook more for me then I do for you." O'shea shrugged. "I like cooking for you."
"So what's the occasion?" She asked. O'shea looked up at her. She took a huge bit of her garlic bread and raised a brow. "You really don't know?" He asked.
"Well it's Wednesday." O'shea nodded. He felt stupid. It was supposed to be the other way around.
He was supposed to forget their anniversary and she was supposed to cook and be mad at him. "It's our eight months." Lyric frowned.
"Oh, I knew that." "Yea right, or you just dont care?" Lyric's frown deepened. "Of course I care." "That's not how I feel."
"I have school, work and basketball to think about.. my week and weekend is made up O'shea. I have alot on my mind and I'm sorry if I forgot our stupid eight months."
She mumbled harshly. O'shea raised a brow. "Stupid?" Lyric sighed. "I didn't mean-" "When do you ever say anything that you don't mean?" He asked.
"So it's stupid? Our relationship is stupid to you? I wonder how you'll feel when we make it a year.. if we make it a year because obviously you think our relationship is stupid." Lyric frowned.
"And I apologize for behaving like an emotional female but unlike you I actually look forward to waking up next to you everyday or being able to tell people that you're my girlfriend."
"I'm sorry." Lyric shrugged. "You really mean that or did you just say it so I would shut up?" He asked.
"I do.. but I'm sorry if I'm busy all the time. I know we barely see eachother anymore-" "And today is just another day to you?" "I forgot because I'm busy and tired all the time."
O'shea licked his lips. "I don't want us to be like those other couples that grows tired of eachother and is used to seeing eachother everyday." Lyric twisted her lips.
"I still get excited when you walk through the door." He said looking into her eyes. Lyric stared back.
"I'll make it up to you, I promise." O'shea sighed and started playing with his food. "Sure." He mumbled.
