My life suddenly doesn't seem like total shit now that I'm able to pay my rent this month - and several months after that.

You heard it here first, I, Aubrey Freeman, have paid my rent in advance for the remainder of the year.

I guess Elias is good for something after all - and to think I was going to call him in front of all his employees and light his ass on fire.

Silly me.

An achievement like this calls for a celebration and what better way to celebrate than by going on a much needed shopping spree?

Of course, I've already taken the liberty of driving myself to all the hottest places in town. Judging by my current outfit, I need to go clothes shopping! A crop top and skinny jeans may be cute in the summer time but colder weather is creeping just around the corner.

Time to update my winter wardrobe - but first I have to get a winter wardrobe.

While out in the town, I decide to go to a nearby café and treat myself to a well earned treat. I approach the quaint little setup and order a Belgium waffle with a side of black coffee.

After confirming my order, the cashier nods and moves on to the man behind me. I take a seat on one of the outside tables, each set comfortably underneath a green parasol, and enjoy the cool breeze tickling my skin.

This is so relaxing.

The new cashmere sweater I just bought is perfect for the cool weather and fits comfortably.

As I take in the coolness of the air, I see the waiter exit the main building and approach my table with a platter in hand.

"For you mademoiselle. One Belgium waffle, freshly made, and a steaming hot cup of black coffee."

He carefully sets down each item as he calls them out as if he's truly proud of the preparation it took to make them.

He gives me a warm smile while gesturing towards the food.

"Enjoy your meal, madame."

I return his smile and thank him as he makes his way to another table.

The smell of melted butter along with the delicate taste of the waffle makes for the perfect combination as I gobble it down with my coffee.

Damn, I almost forgot what it was like to actually have a decent meal.

Feeling full and energized, I leave a five dollar tip for the waiter and make my way towards my car.

I realize that it's a little past noon after I've already done my clothes and grocery shopping and had brunch. I figure I should save the rest of my money for another day so I decide to drive back to my apartment.

I still have a little over a thousand left and I've already paid my rent for the rest of the year so that should leave me plenty of time to find a decent job.

I swore to myself that this deal with Elias was a one time thing and that's exactly what I meant. I haven't spoken a word to Elias or even seen him since yesterday. Maybe it's for the best if I just end all contact with him.

He can go back to living his luxurious life while I go back to living my life and getting by on my own!

I tend to think a lot when I'm behind the wheel for some reason - maybe because I'm always by myself and have no one to talk to.
