I would sail across a thousand seas, just to see her smile.

Even now, after everything that has happened, her smile still fills me to the brim.

Every sideways glance through nervous eyes builds a pressure in my chest.

Every measured word makes my mind race with worry and confusion.

All the lingering feelings, all the unspoken memories, all the pain...

But when I see her smile, how can anything else matter?

How can I see anything else but that smile that lights up my world,

Even when that smile isn't for me.

So I wait, knowing that things are never the same as they once were.

And I know, that no matter what I do, one day she will move on to something more.

But still, I cannot help but live for her smile.

For the smile that keeps me here.
