The Wrong Man
Chapter 1
Thomas POV
The overpowering smell of fried onions wafted through the air almost taunghting me to buy a hotdog. A strong diet coupled by regular exercise was what the doctor insisted if i was to stop my frequent visits to him regarding my recently acquired heartaches. Apparently being overweight causes heart disease which is currently the path i was heading on if i didn't change my obsessive eating coupled by my gaming addiction. So here i was, jogging as if chased by a mad man with a gun. Atleast not many people were here to witness my poor attempt of a workout. I should have gone to the gym but i guess the need for fresh air won out in the end. I could feel the muscles in my legs scream in a protest as i continued my exhilarating 30 minute run. Only a few more minutes of this torture i thought to myself. Small beads of sweat began to make their journey down my face onto my black shirt. A Black Shirt. What possessed me to even wear black on this ridicously hot day i will never know. Few minutes later, chest heaving hands rested on my knees, vision slightly blurred i came to the conclusion that jogging wasn't for me. If this was agony was what always followed nothing could motivate me to ever jog, sprint or do anything remotely exhilarating again. I don't care if i become the worlds fatest man and reporters start knocking on my door asking about my miracolous journey into obesity or if the reason of my obesity was because I really loved food. Nothing, i repeat nothing would make me endure the last half an hour again. Rolling my shoulders in a poor attempt to comfort my back. A nice cooling shower seemed like a faraway dream. Clasping my eyes shut i continued to gasp for air, which i guess is probably the reason why i failed to notice the man sitting a few feet away on a rusted park bench staring at me like a predator would to its' prey. The click of a barre being flicked into pace seemed to snap me out of my current haze. Was that a gun i just heard?
