You finish your makeup and wring your hands nervously. This was your first show since your wife and you adopted your daughter. Of course, you knew the role forward and backward, but there was something nerve-wracking about performing when you have a baby girl.
Before you can stress too much, you hear a knock at the door. "Come in!"
The door slowly opens to reveal your wife and new baby. You immediately smile and run over to her.
"Pippa!" you exclaim before taking your daughter. "Hey, baby girl. Have you been a good girl for your momma?"
She gurgles, causing her mothers to smile.
Pippa speaks up. "She wanted to watch mommy perform."
You kiss Pippa's cheek. "Thank you. I was getting pretty nervous."
Before your wife can respond, a few of your castmates come into your dressing room and greet Pippa.
Ben opens his mouth to ask where your daughter is but sees her before he can say anything. "Oh my God! She's so cute! Can I hold her?"
You giggle and carefully hand her to him. He sits in your chair and talks to your daughter. Jeremy gently knocks on your door before coming in. "It's great to have you back, (Y/N)."
You give him a quick hug. "I'm glad to be back."
He smiles at the sight of Ben holding your daughter. "She's lucky to have such amazing moms."
Pippa blushes slightly and rests her head on your shoulder.
Soon the rest of the cast fills your dressing room and gushes over your daughter.
"She's so cute!"
"Aww! Baby!"
"(Y/N), Pippa, you have a wonderful baby."
As much as you love the cast, you do have a show to do. "Alright. Everyone out! Wife and baby are the only ones allowed to stay."
They laugh and hand your daughter back to you. Once they leave, you sit on your counter while Pippa takes the chair. You gently sway with your daughter in your arms, while Pippa smiles. "You're a great mom."
"I have the best partner."
You set your daughter back in her carrier before leaning over to kiss your wife. "I really have to get in costume now. You are welcome to stay here though."
She nods and helps you down from the counter and into your dress.
"Break a leg!" She calls after you as you leave your room.

The show goes by smoothly, but you couldn't be happier to see it end. There is nothing you want to do more than go home and be with your wife and daughter.
Once you are back in your dressing room, Pippa gives you a kiss. "You did so good!"
You blush slightly. "I've got to change and stagedoor, but after that I can leave. You can go ahead and leave."
She holds your daughter closer to her chest. "We can wait for you."
"Are you sure?" you ask, pulling your shirt over your head.
"Yep. Go out there; make people happy. We'll wait for you," she responds as you finish getting dressed. You give them each a kiss on the head before asking for them to come out with you.
"I want everyone to see our beautiful daughter! And my goddess of a wife!"
Pippa sighs and gives in. "Alright. Fine."
You squeal and pull her out the door with you. Most people cheer at the sight of the happy couple, but there are a few who seem less than excited to see you with your wife.
You reach over the barricade to sign a playbill for a fan.
"(Y/N)! I'm so glad you're back! You're the best Katherine! The show was terrible without. The chemistry between Jack and Katherine was just so unbelievable."
You laugh slightly, knowing that Kara is a better Katherine than you could ever be. "Thank you, but I would never think of Kara as a terrible Katherine." Sometimes you forget about the people you have to deal with at the door.
You take another picture before someone asks about your absence. "Why were you gone? Oh wait! Is that why?" The fan points back at your wife, who is bouncing your daughter.
You smile and sign a Playbill. "Yep. Pip and Maggie have really kept me busy." As you move over, Jeremy comes behind you. "You and Pippa should go in."
You give him a confused look. "What do you..." Your voice fades as you hear a few people say things that you have heard ever since you came out. You give Jeremy a quick kiss on the cheek as a thank you before going back inside with your wife.
"What happened, (Y/N)?" Pippa asks, rubbing your shoulder.
"Nothing, it's nothing."
"The tears streaming down your face say that it is something." She hands Maggie over to you, causing you to smile. "She always makes you happy."
"Thank you." You sniffle. "I hate people."
Pippa laughs and kisses the top of your head.
"And I'm really, really sorry."
"Don't be. People can be jerks, but we have each other." Your daughter starts whining. "And Maggie. I fed her during the show; she probably needs a diaper change. I'll take her."
You shake your head. "What kind of mom would I be if I won't take care of my own daughter?"
"She's our daughter, too," Ben says, opening the door. A few more cast members walk in behind him. "So long as you're a part of this cast or even our friend, we're family."
"And family takes care of each other."
Jeremy is the last to walk in. "That includes setting people straight."
"What did you do?" You ask, handing your daughter over to your wife so that she can take care of her.
"Nothing terrible," Andrew says quickly. "But no one will ever bother the two of you. Not if we can help it."
"Thank you. I don't even want to know what you did." By the time you've hugged everyone, Pippa in Maggie come over to you.
She kisses your cheek. "Ready to go, baby?"
"Yep. Let's go."
