Hi i'm Liz, and this is my first TMI fanfic :3 my other Stories sorta sucked so i deleted them, but let's hope this one doesn't. Enjoy and thats pretty much it :3

P.s: I know that the front cover is a photo of Amatis, but thats not the legit cover that i'm using, my cover is still being made.

Disclaimer: I do not own the idea of the Shadow world or any of these characters except for Jessamine, that all belongs to the lovely Cassandra Clare!! :)

Prologue:

 December, 1991

My dearest Stephen,

I have written this letter maybe over 1000 times. Bits of paper litter the floors of my room as I grasp for the right way to tell you this; I’ve decided to come out straightforward.

 You have a daughter.

Her name is Jessamine, Jessamine Cecily  after Jessamine Lovelace you know... the women we learned about in class a few years ago. she’s just as beautiful as the original Jessamine and although she is an infant, she reminds me of Jessamine Lovelace, yet she is also a splitting image of you!. i hope you do like the name though because i felt that her story- Jessamine Lovelace's that is, should've been honoured and don't call me nerdy, i just really enjoyed Shadowhunting History ok! I know that Valentine has forbidden you from speaking to me, and that you are happily married to Celine, but I just thought that it would be unfair on you, if you didn’t know of her existence. I know that your feelings for me no longer stand, but my love for you still will be eternal. I love you with all my heart, and I hope that you will be in our daughter’s life. She has your beautiful blue eyes and your blonde hair, and I fear like you, that she is going to be a heartbreaker. I do know that Celine herself is pregnant and I am sorry for all the stress that this may cause you. i hope that one day our children may be the best of siblings.

I hope you and Celine are well.

 With all my love,

Amatis

January 1991

Enraged, heartbroken cries filled the small comfy home, though nothing about the cries made the house comfy at all. Amatis Herondale was crying on the floor, a letter in hand, an open silver box that was filled to the brim with letters to her left. Suddenly the tears no longer fell. As Amatis arose from her crouch, soft cries could be heard from down the hall.

Her child.

She gazed down sorrowfully at her baby, whose cries stopped as soon as she felt her mother’s presence. Jessamine was a beautiful, gentle child, though with those beautiful Herondale eyes, and her blonde hair, it was all too much to take in.

She resembled him.

“Im sorry my sweet Jessamine, but I fear that I cannot keep you, I am unwell mentally and I don’t want you to carry my burdens as you grow.”

Suddenly and without warning, two loud knocks filled the house.

BANG BANG

“AMATIS!, AMATIS ARE YOU IN THERE?”

Valentine’s voice rang out like symbols clashing together, so cynical that it bought Amatis quickly out of her stupor. If Amatis were the same immature girl she was in the circle, she would’ve still welcomed Valentine into her home, despite his forcing her to leave the circle after her brother’s change. She knew that Valentine hadn’t come with good intentions.

“WE KNOW ABOUT YOUR CHILD AMATIS! COME OUT THIS INSTANT!” Hodge Starkweather shouted in an attempt to scare her.

With her eyes shinning with determination, Amatis KNEW that her child could no longer live with her. You see Jessamine was special, she had special abilities and she feared that Valentine knew of those powers.

Hastily she wrote two letters: one to Jocelyn, the other for her dear child.

Tears threatened to escape Amatis’s eyes as she prepared things for her child to take with her, to remind her of her parents. Amatis climbed carefully out of the window, with her child gently in her arms, she then drew a portal on the brick wall, knowing that Jocelyn was preparing to leave for the mundane world.

"Jocelyn! Jocelyn it’s me Amatis!” Amatis cried out, Jessamine was quiet in Amatis’s arms, as Jocelyn emerged from her hideaway. “Amatis I am leaving soon, but I promise I will message you, I’m going to be alr- “ “I know, you will be alright but I have a very big favour to ask” Amatis said, emotion filling her voice. “ my daughter, I cannot keep her, Valentine knows of her powers, please take her with you raise her as your own I know that he will try to get my daughter at all costs,” A short silence filled the air. “Very well then,” Jocelyn said. Amatis was very stubborn and she knew she would lose this fight. “ I will take your daughter, but only if you make amends with Luke. He is your brother, your own flesh and blood, I’d imagine he’s feeling isolated right now.” Jocelyn continued in a softer voice. Amatis had unshed tears in her eyes.

" i will try for you Jocelyn. Please do take care of your Clarissa and my Jessamine, i hope by the angel, that you arrive safely into the mudane world. i have one favour to ask though. please do not give her the letter until her 16th birthday and please, read the letter i have left you as soon as you get to the mundane world. i can't thank you enough Jocelyn"  Amatis said in a sincere and grateful tone. "that is alright but you must go, it is not safe here." said Jocelyn. Amatis and Jocelyn shared  quick embrace, then Amatis looked sorrowfully at her daughter, tears falling freely now.

"until we meet again my sweet."
