I jumped up a little to fast and I got dizzy. Dang I must have fallen harder than I thought.

"Yeah I'm fine actually, just peachy"

"You sure? You look horrible" Jake said with a face full of concern.

"Gee thanks for that" I snapped. Why exactly am I being such a jerk to this sweet, caring, and let's face it, handsome, boy?

"Relax I meant like you look like you are seriously hurt and you could throw up at any sec...."

He didn't get to finish his sentence because that is exactly what I did. I threw up right on his shoes.

"I'm sorry I will pay for those." I started crying. I hate crying in front of people. " I need to get home, I don't feel well."

"let me take you home you shouldn't have to walk home. Where do you live?

"I was taught at a very young age not to tell people at the park where I live, but it beats walking. I live on redwood road."

"Yeah no problem, that's only a couple minutes from my house."

We rode in silence. The entire way to my house neither of us said a word.

"Stop here, it's the yellow house on the right." I said

Jake smiled "Ok skater girl, I'll see ya later. By the way what's your name?"

I bit my lip... I didn't want to tell him. He's my crush.. the fact that he doesn't know my name already means he never knew who I was till today.
"That's for you to find out." I grinned
And shut the door. When I got in the house, my dad was sitting at the counter. He turned and looked at me.

" Honey, I have some news. The principle just called, she said that while they were getting classes and schedules ready tomorrow she notices that you have extremely high grades and already taking a couple advanced classes. She suggested that you skip a grade."

Wait.... What? How can I pass up an opportunity like this? It is a huge deal. But, that would mean also leaving Hayley. How could I do this without her? I would have to think about it for sure.

"Hayley?" I need to her to pick up. It's been two hours since dad told me the news and I'm not sure how I will decide.

"Hello? Skye? What's up?" She asked groggily. I look at the clock. It's 9:50pm. She always goes to bed so early before the first day if school.

"Sorry to wake you up, but I need your help."

"Yes girl what's up?"

I explained to her the situation. She paused for a really long time before she spoke.

"Skye, you need to do this. It will hurt like crazy not having you by my side every single second, but I will still see you and you will still be my best friend. I am taking advanced English and that's a senior class so we will have that and lunch and gym too. This is something you need to do for yourself. You are always looking after everyone. It's time you look after yourself."

I couldn't help it. I burst out crying. "Thank you so much Hay you are the best friend ever. Have I told you how much I love you lately?" I laughed

"If you love me, let me go back to sleep.." and then she hung up on me. That's the Hayley I know.

It looks like tomorrow is my first day of senior year.
