"You've been looking...happy, recently." Pansy remarked one day.

"Huh?? What? Me? No, never!" I softly gasped, flippantly waving it off, "I can never be happy until I can meet with death."

"Really." He huffed, not believing me.

I winked, "Maybe it's because i'm with you, Pansy."

"....Huhh." His left eye twitched irritably.

I wiggled my eyebrows, "You know you love me."

"I don't." He quickly replied.

"Isn't that a bit too quick for a reply? Is it.....denial?" I hugged him, "I love you so much, Pansy!"

That's a lie though.

"Stop calling me that!" He shouted, his cheeks red from embarrassment from my bold declaration.

Oh hey, that's new.

I stuck out my tongue cheekily, "Its been four years Pansy, I ain't givin' it up that easily. It's a name that I have made specifically for you, don't you like it? It means you're....special."

"Special-" He rolled his eyes, "Like hell i'd want to be 'special' to you."

Aww that reaction is gone.

"That's too bad. I might really go find another lover." I shook my head, "Like that one other vampire....Mikaela was it?" I feigned ignorance, "He looks like a cutie.~ I'd totally date him!"

That's another lie though.

Lacus gaped, "Mikaela? The new kid? You would want someone like him?"

"Problem?" I felt, on Mikachu's behalf, somewhat offended.

"He doesn't drink blood. And he's nothing like how a real vampire should be." Lacus laughed, "Except he does like brooding on his own a lot."

That, I cannot deny. I am sorry Mikachu.

"He isn't worth it." Lacus shrugged.

I snickered, "And you are?"

Oh shit what did I just-

"What did you just say?" Lacus narrowed his eyes.

"I said..." I sweated profusely, "I was saying that you shouldn't get too arrogant, Pansy! Who knows, maybe that Mikaela kid will grow up to be way hotter than you! Ahahahah!"

What am I saying? Do I have a death wish or something?

Oh wait.

I do.

"You better step up your game, Pansy. I might just go for him instead!" I smiled.

Lacus gritted his teeth, speaking sourly, "Yeah right."

What's got him all annoyed? He can't possibly be.....jealous, could he?

"I'm 14, Pansy. Give it a couple more years." I patted his shoulder.

"I don't like you!" He exclaimed, "You're just....stupid! Stupid!" After pointing quite rudely at my face, he stomped away like a whiny brat.

....How immature.

-------------------

"Why do you hang out with those guys?" Mikachu asked. "They're annoying, especially Lacus."

"Pansy and Rene?" I blinked. "Yeah, I have to agree with that second statement of yours. Pansy is a pretty annoying little shit and I am proud to say that he has not grown on me at all over the 4 years that we have spent together."

[Ouch. In a distance, Lacus feels a strangely cold chill crawling up his spine.]

"Then why?" Mikaela tilted his head.

"Because," I continued in a matter-of-fact tone, "I figured that if I kept annoying them then they would kill me."

"But they haven't." He pointed out.

I heaved a sigh, "Sadly not."

-------------------------

"Koto-neesan, if you were to ever escape from this place....what would you do?" Mika mumbled, hugging his knees.

"That is not my intention, so I don't know." I rolled around on my futon, "I prefer to die first."

"But what if?" He insisted, huffing irritably.

"What if huh..." I stared up at the chipped ceiling, "I guess...i'd go get a really dangerous job."

".....So that you could die?" He asked.

I closed my eyes, "You know me well."

He stifled a laughed and spoke up, "If we ever escape....i'll let you meet Yuu-chan."

"Ah, the other runt." I halfheartedly yawned. "He seems like a handful."

"He is.....but we're family." Mikaela smiled.

Family.

That left a bitter taste in my mouth.

"And you're also my family too." He added. "When we escape this place.....when that time comes...for sure, i'll reunite with Yuu-chan. And then i'll formally introduce you two. And we'd find a place to live...away from the vampires...away from humanity...and then...and then..." He continued on, spouting a paragraph of wistful dreams.

Strangely enough, it didn't seem so bad.

I didn't have the heart to tell him that it would be impossible, but if I really imagined it.....it doesn't seem all that bad.

I still wanted to die though.

I started to become drowsy, my eyelids felt heavy. I crawled over and plopped myself down on Mika's lap, "Wake me up when morning comes, Mikachu."

3rd person POV

"Huh? You're sleeping now?" Mikaela blinked.

No reply.

"Already asleep huh..." He sighed, "I should've known."

The blonde vampire started to run his hand through her short hair, 'It's soft...'

He hummed quietly to himself, "Surely, in the future....we'll leave this place, Koto-neesan."

-------------------------

Lacus stood behind the door, his expression grim. So his admittedly favorite livestock did have contact with the new vampire. However, he couldn't help but laugh at Mikaela's impossible words.

He hadn't been too interested in the blonde until now. Mikaela was different. He was interesting.

Lacus narrowed his eyes.

And he isn't going anywhere with my livestock.
