Reagan Robina Holland absolutely hated school. She was good at the studies, but being one with no mutual friends of any kind, it kinda sucked. She had successfully survived grade seven with ease, slightly challenging, but never the less, easy.

Compared to what today will be like.

The first day is always the worst day.

She got yogurt splashed on her favorite sweater in Grade three, Someone chucked a football at her cheek in Grade four, She had the fever in Grade five, Grade six was full of trips and falls, preceded with a cast on her arm and leg, and Grade seven? By far the worst.

Someone spread a rumor that Reagan had a huge crush on Timothy Wizenhacker. The biggest geek in Edwell Middle school. He still picks his nose and gushes over Pokemon cards. She had to live with that lie for fifteen weeks!

This year is probably gonna start off bumpier than past years, she just knew it.

People in Middle school aren't very kind, and people in Reagan's Middle School are so dramatic. It's like living a highschool cliche. There's a Mister Popular, but he's only famous since he's dating Natalie Parkinson. She's the kindest person you'll ever meet, but doesn't seem to notice people like Reagan.

Once she held the door for Reagan. She even helped her with the homework they got for Geography once. To be honest she's pretty dumb and the tutoring session ended with Reagan teaching Natalie what 'thievery' meant.

She's forgotten Reagan though. She does that a lot.

I don't know many people here in Edwell, but who's to say I'll meet someone worth my time? Reagan thought.

The girl got out a red shirt and slipped it on, followed by black tights and a black sweater. She had red converse. Taking a bite of her apple, she slipped on her jansport backpack and cleaned her lenses. Her black frames fit her perfectly.

"Gran, I'm heading out!" She called to her grandmother, grabbing her key and locking the door. She only lived with that woman and she hoped nothing happened to her while she was away, so she double checked if the door was really locked.

"Love you." She whispered.

The cool air hit her face like a truck. The sun beating down at her back as she walked to her doom.

She already knew nothing good was coming her way today.

But interesting, she never thought of that possibility.

.--..--..--..--..--.

"Good Morning class of 2017-18, I am Ms. Elliott. Most of you remember me from last year as your Music Teacher, but now, I will be your homeroom teacher for grade 8 so who is excited?" The teacher asked. She was a curvy woman who was quite kind. As much as Reagan dreaded Music Classes, she found Ms. Elliott quite charming. Natalie put up her hand.

"Puppies." She giggled.

Everyone Laughed at that.

"What? They're cute." Natalie shrugged.

Reagan wasn't very fond of dogs, but an animal that really did catch her eye- a Fox. She thought foxes were majestic, and majestic they were.

"I see some very new faces here, which is really good. Today, before we begin, we will each come up at the front and explain who we are and what we like." Ms. Elliott concluded.

This is exactly what Reagan hated about first days, other than the fact that they bring bad luck, she just can't stand it when all eyes are looking at her. She wished she could hide behind a bush and wear a cloak of some sort. Like the invisibility cloak in Harry Potter.
