After some intense gaming it was getting late. I stood up and smiled feeling the happiest that I had felt in long time. "I should go home, it's late. But thanks so much!"i said cheerfully. He smiled, "no problem, be safe. See you later?" Him saying that made me reallyyyyy happy, " of course! " I said. And started to walk home. I was walking in the still night, the only light from the lamp posts shining down on the bare streets. The cold air chilled my neck as I walked home.I slowly fell back into my normal mental state as I walked up to my front porch and opened the door. I didn't know if dad was in the living room but I walked into my room without a word. Or what was left of it. I felt tears welling up in my eyes as I stared at a sleeping bag on our patchy carpet.I layed down and it was like laying on a sheet. "Maybe I should get a job" i thought. I would get a job. I would save up to move out. And support my self for the most part. The idea comforted me as I lay uncomfortably on a sleeping bag as thin as paper and after hours drifted into sleep.
