7. Leaving School

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock blaring into my ears. It is probably one of the most unwanted sound people could hear. I forced myself to get out of my bed and headed to the bathroom to get clean and brush my teeth. After a relaxing shower, I walk out to see an outfit on my bed. It was a simple t-shirt with black pants. Jamie must've put it out for me. I shrug it on and add light makeup to my clean face. Walking downstairs, the smell of waffles make my mouth water.

    "Morning Lilia, Kacey, Jamie, Ashton, Peter, Jonathan, James and Josh!" I say with a smile.

    "Morning, Jordan!" They all say in unison.

    It was our second week of school and we still haven't found out where Chris and their gang were. The mission was way harder than we thought it would be. After a scrumptious breakfast, we headed towards the car. Lilia and Peter watched us leave the house before heading back inside. They were supposed to be our, Jonathan, James, Josh and I's, parents. The rest were supposed to be our cousins from our 'moms' side. We reached school and got out, again all eyes were on us, like always. There were rumors that we were all siblings, which I found really funny.

"Hey, you okay?" Josh asked me with a smile.

"Yes. Just thinking about the mission," I lied.

"Calm down. We'll find them in no time," Ashton joins the conversation.

"How do they look, anyways?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh, we forgot to show you pictures. I'll show you at home," Jonathan joins in too.

I just nod, then head for Science with Kacey. We took our usually spots, at the back of the classroom. Ms. Brenda, who always walks in early, took a seat at her desk and started to mark our books. Half way through class, a boy walked in and I could tell everyone tensed up, even Ms. Brenda and Kacey.

    "Who's that?" I whispered at Kacey.

    "Jack Hence," she replies.

    Then I tense up. He scanned the classroom then walked towards me and took the seat that was empty, which unfortunately was beside me. I watched him scowl as he scanned the classroom.

    "Aren't you going to teach," he asks, with the scowl still on his face.

    "Right, yes!" Ms. Brenda continues on with the class.

    When class finally ended, he was the first one to walk out. Once he was gone, everyone burst out into whispers, even Ms. Brenda was talking to a few other students.

    "Let's go," Kacey whispers to me as she heads for the door.

    We both walk out and I let out a breath, I didn't know I was holding. I just met Jack Hence, the co-leader of the gang!

    Before I knew it, it was lunch time. Josh and I walked into the canteen and sit at our usual spot with the rest.

"Hey guys! Look! It's the gang," Jamie points at Jack, Kaden, Sally, Mark, Kathy, Celine, Lillian and Joshua.

    They were all deep in conversation until Jack stood up and secretly pointed at the backdoors of the school, which we all quickly noticed. They were leaving school.

    "They're leaving school," James whispers in a low voice, only our table could hear.

    "Yeah," I replied.

    "Let's inform Lilia and Peter. We have to follow them, in secret, of course," Kacey states and we all agreed.

    Jonathan quickly texted both of them and the bell rang. The gang rushed to the exits and we followed silently. It wouldn't be that suspicious because everyone was walking everywhere. We only had five minutes to leave, Josh made a run for it and we all followed right behind him. He opened the door and a blast of fresh, cool air hits our faces. I look out into the distance to see the gang entering a black van.

    "Guys! Look!" I point at the van, which was leaving school.

    "Everyone get into the car. We have to follow," Ashton suggested and we nodded.

    We hopped into the car and followed the van. Lilia and Peter were right behind us, what perfect timing. Jonathan made sure there were at least one or two cars in-front of us so it wouldn't look like we were following them. After thirty minutes of driving, the car came to an abrupt stop, making me hit my head on the head rest that was in-front of me.

    I looked around at my surroundings and saw that we were near an abandoned factory. This must be the place the paper was talking about! At the far end, the van had stopped and everyone inside got out and entered the factory.

"We can't get too close or they'll know we followed them," Jonathan says.

We all agreed and I was surprised Jamie took notes about the area. I guess it was good so we could come back to check on them or something.
