Polk Salad Annie; Beginning
Some of you never been down south too much. Some of you never sought to. I would like to tell you a little story so you'd know what/where I'm talking about. Down there we have a plant that grows in the woods out in the fields, and it look something like a turnip green. Everybody calls it, Polk Salad. Now that's Polk, Salad. Used to talk to a girl down there that would go out in the evenings, pick a mess of it, and carry it home for supper, cause that's all they about had to eat, But they did all right.
