Chapter 13: New Start

                                                     Janessa's POV

Toby was absolutely adorable. The whole brother and sister relationship is a big transition for Prince, which is quite evident due to his normal cool and collected demeanor into a spazzing, indecisive vampire. I rubbed on his right arm to express my support, hoping that it would calm him down to the slightest bit. Prince looked at me and managed to give me a smile. It was like that for awhile, just me and him enjoying this moment.

In the midst of our swooning eyes connecting to one another's, a person cleared their throat. Startled, Princeton and I turned to the brown eyes that were filled with curiosity.

"Are you guys together?" Toby questioned us.

I didn't say anything. 

My gaze fell on Prince, debating on how he wanted to answer this question. A couple awkward minutes flew by, with the question still unanswered.

"Well....?" Toby asked getting impatient.

"Technically no. It's not official yet." Prince answered.

"Oh. It took you that long to come up with?" Toby questioned with an attitude. "Please, I thought it was gonna be a long story or something. Had me all interested in all that for not reason." 

"Things happen unexpectedly, I guess." Prince said.

"You got that. I did not want this to happen to me, but here I am."

Prince looked away. A frown was upon his lips. His flawless brown eyes were now blue, glassy. I walked up to him and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"You okay?" I asked genuinely concerned.

Prince didn't say anything at first. 

I didn't push him into telling me though. If he wanted to talk about it, then I would let him talk on his own terms. 

"I'm fine. It's just everything is complicated and I'm putting you in all this mess." Prince said.

I looked up at him directly in his eyes. "You are not putting  me through anything. Don't sweat all that. Just focus on you being a the best big brother you can be to her. Everything will be fine.

"Yeah, your right." He agreed with his eyes slowly turning back to those beautiful, chocolate brown eyes I always get lost in.

Toby cleared her throat.

"Sorry to disrupt but I am tired and I wanna go home to see mommy and daddy."

"You can't" Prince responded.

Toby folded her arms. "Why not?" 

"It's not safe and your gonna break rules that can leave you locked up or dead. Simple as that. So your gonna have a new home and learn alot. Especially about self-control. That's a key life lesson for us."

"If you say so. Just me and you big bro is gonna be awesome. I mean no parents or anything."

"By my age, I'm old enough to be your great, great, great grandpa. So I am the adult along with my other friends. Secondly, it's not just me and you. It's me, you, my friends, Janessa and her friends living there."

"WHAT! I'm gonna be all claustrophobic in that house. Oh, and when we go I'm getting the biggest room at the house."

"Nope, I'm gonna have you sleep outside."

"Ummmm NO. Your gonna sleep outside and I hope wild animals will come after you."

"Good 'cuz that's my dinner little girl."
