"Going to the bathroom?" I said.

"Cut the crap. What were you doing there?"

"I don't need to tell you why."

"Dua. My dad is only at home for one day out of the month. I want to know, I need to know. For my mom."

"Noah, I-"

I head bumped him. I feel bad, but he can't know. Not just for my family's safety but for his own safety. I pulled out my burner phone from my pocket.

"Hey Esme, I kind of have a situation here."

"What's... the situation?"

"I have a guy unconscious at the location, and he might be related to someone in Serpent Enterprises. Could we have agents get him from his house and put him in a secure location?"

"Does he know anything?"

"I honestly don't know. Can you send agents over? It's a house party so they'll have to be very discreet."

"Definitely. Did you get it?"

"Yes, I got it."

"Okay, hand it to the agents, they're on their way."

I cut the call and looked at Noah. Does he really not know anything about his dad?

I went downstairs and the party had died down a little. There were just a couple of people, and they were all sitting in the living room. Minna came up behind me.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, it was just very awkward."

There was a knock at the door. Rob opened the door and it was two policemen.

"Hello, young man. We've been getting noise complaints from the neighbors and we wanted to see for ourselves," the first one said, with a thick southern accent.

One of them winked at me. Um, pervert.

"Can we take a look around?"

"Can I see some IDs?" Robbie said.

They both showed their IDs.

"So, can we come in?"

"Yeah, sure, whatever."

They both called anyone who might've been upstairs. A couple came downstairs, and that was it.

The police officer who winked at me passed me and I realized who it was. This idiot was supposed to be discreet. I passed Luke the encryptor while the other policeman was talking to Robbie and Minna.

"Okay, we're just going to give you kids a warning for now," Luke said.

He winked at me and both of them left.

"I guess this is our cue to leave," Minna told Robbie.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow," Robbie said, kissing her on the cheek.

"Uh, tomorrow?"

"First date!" She said, smiling at him.

"I'll be in the car," I said, walking backwards.

I pulled out my burner and called Esme.

"You sent Luke. Seriously?"

"He was the only one nearby. And he's really good at distractions."

"Did you get him?"

"Yes, we did."

"Okay good. I'll be there in an hour or two."

"Dua, take the night off, you deserve it."

"I just want t-"

"I know you want to check on him, but you can do it tomorrow. Okay? Come tomorrow morning, but for now. Rest. Things are about to get more complicated."

"Yeah, I know. Good night, Esme."

"Good night."

The next morning I woke up and found Yousef eating breakfast.

"Where is Ammi?"

"She's in bed, she's tired. She came home late last night."

"Like how late?"

"Like 2 am late."

"Dude, seriously? It was just a corporate dinner, why so late?," I said, shoving eggs into my mouth.

"No clue, um that's my eggs."

I looked up and gave him a smile, "I know, now you get the barakat for feeding me! I'll be back later, let Ammi know."

"Yeah sure, you owe me."

I laughed and headed to the car.
